🦠 Combating Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) I recently concluded a transformative 3-month AMR Leadership Training Program for tertiary students across Africa, proudly conducted by ReAct Africa.
This program opened my eyes to one of the most silent and dangerous health threats of our time: Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). AMR is not just a medical issue it’s a global crisis affecting public health, food systems, economies, and the future of medicine.
If left unchecked, AMR could claim 10 million lives annually by 2050. Through the fellowship, we explored: 🔬 The science behind AMR 📊 Data, policy, and research in AMR responses 🧠 Behavior change & awareness campaigns
🤝 Multi-sectoral collaboration (One Health approach) 📣 Youth-driven advocacy & community engagement As a youth leader, I now understand my critical role in raising awareness, promoting responsible use of antibiotics, and championing innovation.
Let’s stand up for the future of global health before resistance becomes the norm.
