Jamie Johnson Season 6 Episode 1 Reaction Thing

Spoilers ahead

So, I’ve been really bad about keeping this tumblr updated 😅 sorry about that :( I still need to write what I had originally hoped for season 6 🤷‍♂️

I’m torn on the season premiere so far. I do miss following a gay main character but to be fair, they did a great job of it last season and hopefully Dillon will make a cameo at some point.

It’s strange to see Liam back to his season 4 ways after we saw him all mopey last season. Last season he was more cartoonish troublemaker as opposed to the outright “villain” he was in season 4, but at least we can see some of the depth he had in season 4, ie being really lonely. (Although I haven’t seen season 5 in a while, just episode 8, so I think he already turned back to antagonist in season 5 episode 11 if my old post is to be believed)

It’s rare to see most of the episode focus on the game itself so that was nice to see, although I kind of hope they don’t do that every episode. I love the matches, but Jamie Johnson is more drama. Although I guess after last season they figured having more match time per episode might even things out. The lack of music added to the atmosphere of it being a low energy game, at least that’s how it seemed.

The mike storyline should be interesting, the goalie was... he was every minion character ever. And I like the lack of trailers at the end of the episode. Always appreciated.

But by far the standout moment from the episode was Jamie and boggy’s conversation at the end. Jamie seems to have genuinely learned from the way he treated boggy in season 5. His advice to boggy was really sweet and you end up forgetting how much you hated Jamie in season 5. I’m proud of him.

I’m looking forward to season 6 though (and hoping season 7 is released in pride month)
