Polly was missing and everyone was looking for her. There were two sides to this war, the Coopers and the Blossoms, what a surprise. However, when it was released that Polly was pregnant with Jason’s baby all would unite with a common goal: to find and care for the young Cooper.
Eventually Betty discovered Polly’s hiding place and was able to care for her sister. Since the Cooper’s wanted Polly and not the baby, and the Blossom’s wanted the baby and not Polly, she had no choice but to find sanctuary elsewhere. So, she moved into the Pembroke with Veronica and Hermione.
To attempt to fix things between the two families, Veronica had suggested that they throw Polly a shower. Betty said that she and Jughead would be happy to help. To which Jughead made a snarky comment on how being in a relationship was tarnishing his masculinity. You would have loved to help with it, but you were spending all of your free time trying to find out ways to help Archie and his dad.
Clifford Blossom bought out Mr. Andrews’ Crew. Work was coming to a halt and there was nothing Fred could do about it. With the equipment and lack of workers, he was losing money. His entire business was in jeopardy. You spent your days calling other construction crews to see if any could loan members or needed work, but it was no use.
So you and Archie came up with a plan. Archie talked to the football players and you talked to Jughead and Kevin. And after practice they all showed up to the site to help out. Mr. Andrews was shocked, but thankful.
“Meet your temporary crew. Some of Riverdale’s finest.” you say as you pass out helmets.
“I appreciate it guys, but-” Mr. Andrews tried.
“But nothing dad, we are here to help until you get back on your feet.” Archie interrupted.
“Okay, well then let’s get to work,” he smiled.
And so, that was what you did. All of you would go out and help clear the debris. It went great for the first four days, but nothing good can last in Riverdale.
“Come on Jughead, I can lift more than that” you joked.
“That’s fine Y/n, go ahead and laugh. But remember that the pen is mightier than the sword.” he returned.
“If you can lift the pen” you shot back, ducking to avoid the rock he flung in your direction.
“How are you and Betty?” you ask as you go to join him.
“We are good. It’s kinda weird not to be the lone wolf anymore, but it is nice to have someone. How are you and Archie?”
“Things are great.” you answer as you make it back to the door.
“Okay everyone, thanks for your hard work this week. I have pizza here and there is pop in the fridge, help yourselves.” Mr. Andrews said.
All of the guys started to eat when you realized that you forgot your phone. “Hey, i’ll be right back, I left my phone on one of the machines” you spoke getting up from your seat next to Archie. You jogged out to where you knew your phone was when you saw two men with crossbars going at the sites generator. In what you would later admit was not your finest moment, you decided to yell at them to get them to stop. One of them came after you and punched you in the face causing you to fall to the ground and then you were being kicked in the stomach. The second one was still working over the generator and yelled for the other guy that it was time to leave.
“As long as you keep working,we will keep coming back” he spat before giving you one last kick to the head. The crew came around the corner after hearing the commotion, catching the end of it. You powered through the pain and tried to take a picture of them with your phone, but it was all so blurry to you.
“Oh my god. Y/n are you okay?” Archie freaked out. You tried sitting up but yelped in pain.
“Just stay down Y/n. Jughead go get the truck. Kevin, call your dad tell him to meet us at the hospital. The rest of you go home.” Mr. Andrews ordered and they didn’t dare argue.
Your focus was going in and out, but you knew that Archie was by your side holding your hand telling you would be fine.
“Dad, are you sure we should move her?” you vaguely heard Archie ask.
“We have to get her to the hospital son” he said.
So Archie carefully lifted you up, which caused you to shriek. He apologized profusely as he positioned the two of you in the back seat. Mr. Andrews and Jughead climbed in the front and took off. Archie refused to take his eyes off of you. “Y/n you’re doing great, we are almost there.” he said squeezing your hand.
“I’m fine Archie” you tried but it turned into coughing which made you whimper.
“Shhh, don’t say anything. Just focus on my voice.” he replied. He continued talking to you, reassuring you that everything was going to be okay.
Jughead and Mr. Andrews were silent. Ten minutes later they had reached the hospital. Archie carried you in and the nurses took you away. He couldn’t believe that this was happening. His dad had to drag him back to the waiting room where he sat and stared at the ground in disbelief. It wasn’t long before Sheriff Keller showed up and Mr. Andrews left with him to go back to the site and go over what happened.
“You know she is going to be okay, right?” Jughead asked taking a seat next to Archie. When he received no response, he continued, “She is the strongest person either of us have ever met and it always looks a lot worse than it is.”
“You’re right, I just wish I was there for her”
“Archie there is no way you could have known what was going to happen”
Jughead sent a text to Betty and Veronica telling them what had happened. They said that they were on there way. When they got there they went to Archie and pulled him into a hug. Before long, his dad returned.
“What did Sheriff Keller say?” Archie asked.
“That he would have to wait to talk to Y/n, but there wasn’t really much to go off of.” his dad answered, “Any news?”
“Not yet” he sighed.
So his Dad took a seat and the five of them waited in silence for an hour and a half until the doctor finally came out.
“Is anyone here for Y/f/n Y/l/n?” he called out.
“We are” Archie answered rushing to his feet, “how is she?”
“She has a couple of fractured ribs, we had to pop her shoulder back into socket, and she has a mild concussion with some cuts and swelling on her face. She is going to be sore and need to be on bed rest for the next week, taking pain meds. All things considered, she should be fine.” he explained. “Now then, which one of you is Archie?”
“I am sir”
“She has asked to see you,” the doctor informed. So Archie went back with him to see you.
“There he is now” you told the nurse.
“He is a cutie” she smiled which made Archie blush, “I’ll leave you two be, hollar if you need anything.”
Archie was extremely relieved to see you. He hated seeing the bruises on your face, but you were okay and that was what really mattered.
“Hey Archie” you smiled.
“Hey Y/n, I’m glad you’re okay. How are you feeling?” he asked scanning over your injuries.
“Well considering the meds are kicking in, better by the second.” you reply.
“I’m so sorry, I should’ve been there for you. This shouldn’t have happened.” he said not meeting your eyes.
“Hey, look at me. I’m okay. This wasn’t your fault. Come here,”
When he came over to the side of the bed you shifted over enough that he could sit down (which was a feat in itself).
“Y/n, I don’t want to hurt you” he said hesitating.
“What? Do I look that bad?” you joked, “I’m fine Archie, seriously.”
He slowly laid next to you careful not to move you too much.
“I love you Archie Andrews, you know that?” you asked as you rest your head on his chest.
“I love you too Y/n, get some rest,” he answered.
The next morning you were awoken by your nurse who informed you that she kicked Archie out so she could give you a full work up. He went to the waiting room where Jughead and his dad were sleeping. He guessed that Betty and Veronica had went home and would be coming back later that morning. He woke his dad up to ask if the doctor had said anything else. His dad informed him that they were planning to let you check out today if everything went as planned. Archie shared his plan of you staying at their house in his room until you were better and his dad agreed.
When the nurse came out, Archie decided to wake Jughead up and let him go see you. He followed the nurse back to your room.
“Hey Y/n, how are you doing?”
“Great. Do you know where my phone is?” you asked immediately.
“Hello Jughead, I’m so glad to see you,” he mocked, “I’ll never understand the white girl obsession over cell phones. You know that they completely breach you privacy rights. It a-”
“Seriously Jughead, it’s important. Archie said you might have it” you persist.
He pulls it out of his back pocket and hands it to you, “Wanna tell me what I’m missing?” he asked.
“There,” you answered showing him the photo you took, “License plate and one of the guys walking away which means they can estimate his height and weight.”
“You amaze me” he said taking your phone to look at the picture closer. “Do you have any idea why they were there?” he asked.
“Actually, they were trying to destroy the equipment. I caught them in the act and tried to stop them. And then the guy in the picture said to tell Mr. Andrews that their boss would keep sending them until he stopped working on the project.” you recall.
“So it only makes sense that they were sent by Clifford Blossom” Jughead added.
“Not necessarily, with the buyer being anonymous, we don’t know what kind of enemies he or she may have. This could be bigger than we know” you replied with a yawn.
“Well, Sheriff Keller will be coming by later to get a statement. Can I send these to my Dad to see if any of the Serpents can ID them?” he asked.
“That’s a good idea. Can I ask you to do me a favor?”
“Of course. What’s up?”
“The nurse said that I could be checking out today, can you go to the trailer and get some of the clothes I left there?”
“Yeah, you want me to grab anything else?”
“Nope, just the clothes. Thanks Jug” you answered yawning again.
“Okay, I’ll be back. Do you want me to send Archie back in?” he asked.
“Yes please.”
Jughead went back to the waiting room and told Archie that he was going to get your clothes and that you wanted him again. Mr. Andrews offered to drive Jughead seeing as there wasn’t really anything else for him to do. When they arrived, they both went in which startled FP. “What are you guys doing here?” he asked.
“Y/n is in the hospital and I’m grabbing some of her stuff” Jughead answered.
“What happened? Is she okay?” FP asked.
“My site was ambushed last night and she got caught up in it. She has some fractured ribs, a concussion, and dislocated her shoulder. She should be checking out today though.” Mr. Andrews answered.
“You have any idea who did it?”
“No not really-” Mr. Andrews started.
“Actually Y/n took a picture of one of the men and the truck they were in. I was hoping you could ask around.” Jughead interrupted.
“Yeah, of course.”
“Okay well we better be getting back” Jughead said carrying a bag of your clothes.
“Let me know if there is anything else I can do” FP replied watching as they left.
After talking to the Sheriff and the Doctor again, you were able to leave. When Jughead and Mr. Andrews got back a nurse helped you into your clothes and explained to you what to expect as you went home. She handed you a prescription and brought a wheelchair to take you to discharge even though you tried to convince her that it wasn’t necessary. Archie helped you into the truck and the four of you went back to the house. Getting up the stairs to Archie’s room was a struggle, but he was there every step of the way.
When you made it to the bed you were exhausted. His dad had went to Pop’s to get food and Jughead went to get Betty and Veronica who were waiting next door.
“Hey Girl,” Veronica said as she entered the room.
“Hey V” you answered.
“How are you doing?”
“I’ll be fine. Where’s B? Snogging her boyfriend?” you laughed which hurt incredible bad causing
you to wince.
“Are you okay?” Archie asked immediately.
“Yes, but for future reference it hurts to laugh with bruised ribs” you answer.
“I just wanted to let you know that my mom wants to cover whatever your insurance doesn’t cover so you don’t have to worry about anything.” Veronica starts, “and if there is anything else I can do for you, all you need do is ask bestie”
“Thanks Veronica, it means a lot.”
“Hey Y/n, I’m so glad you are okay” Betty said
“Thanks Betty, how’s Polly?” you asked.
“She’s doing better. Here baby shower is tomorrow, but we can move it to later if you want.”
“You don’t have to do that, I’m sure you already have everything set up and invited people. Just tell her that I’m sorry I can’t go” you replied.
“Are you sure?” she asked.
“I am. Plus with the Blossom and Cooper feud I’ll probably have more fun watching netflix” you joke.
“I’m going to get all of the notes and homework for you so you don’t get behind, is there anything else that I can do?” she asked.
“Not that I can think of, but I’ll let you know.” you smile.
“We are going to work it out so one of us is always here after school and on the weekends” Jughead spoke.
“I appreciate it and love you guys, but I’m seriously fine. I don’t need any special treatment” you reply.
“You act like you wouldn’t do the same thing if it were any of us in that bed instead of you” Archie said.
“Well-” you started.
“Well nothing, let us pamper you for once.” Veronica interrupted.
You guys continued to talk about the town happenings and personal problems until Mr. Andrews returned with the food. Betty, Veronica, and Jughead used that as their cue to leave and go finish setting up Polly’s baby shower. So you, Mr. Andrews, and Archie ate dinner in Archie’s bedroom. Afterwards Mr. Andrews told you to yell if you needed anything and then headed to bed.
Your boyfriend thought that he was going to sleep on the floor. You would’ve laughed at that but it hurt too much. “What do you think you are doing?” you ask.
“Well I figured I would sleep up here so if you needed anything I was right here.” he explained.
“Wouldn’t you be more comfortable in your bed? I’m pretty sure it is big enough for the both of us.” you reply smiling.
“Are you sure?” he asked.
“Of course. But can you grab a couple more pillows?” you were supposed to sleep in an upright position to avoid putting pressure on your ribs.
“Yeah. I’ll be right back.”
As he went down stairs you tried to maneuver your way out of the bed. You needed to use the bathroom and did not under any circumstance want to ask Archie for help. You learned how hard it was to stand up when your shoulder was off limits. It was fine though, you pushed through and made it to the bathroom. When you returned to the room you realized that it was time for you to take more medicine. The only problem was that you couldn’t get past the child safety lock. You were defeated and turned to Archie who was re-entering the room. “I need help” you pouted.
“Here,” he said taking the bottle and placing the pills in your hand. He then set the pillows on the bed and helped you climb in.
“I feel like a child,” you sighed.
“You’ll be fine. Besides, I liked you as a child” he said trying to cheer you up. There was silence for a while, neither of you knowing what to say. You looked over at him and he was already sleeping. He looked so peaceful when he slept. When you looked at him you just thought of how much you loved him and how lucky you were. You had to wait for your meds to kick in before you would drift off. It would be the worst night of sleep that you had. Every time you moved either your ribs hurt or your shoulder hurt. You’d jerk yourself awake and then have to catch your breath. You were just glad that as much as you were moving around that you didn’t wake Archie.
It was going to be a long week, you could already tell.
“Hey babe!!!! I am so glad you are back I have missed you. As a senior I understand the pressure! I was wondering if you could write an Archie Andrews imagine? Where maybe she is new and he is intrigued by her but she thinks he is like a mean jock.....? Is that lame? I really do 😘 lysm”

“What we all really need is a good night out, so who wants to volunteer to host a party?”
“You’re the one with a penthouse apartment and a totally chill mum, you should be the one to have it.”
“Ok first off Kev, my mum is the opposite of chill and are you forgetting that we’re basically broke? As if we can afford the damage that will undoubtedly occur after the football team’s paid a visit.”
“Oh please as if- woah.”
Archie looked up from his guitar and messy song writing notebook at the loud sound of Kevin’s loud gasp. It wasn’t long for Archie to find out what caused Kevin to get distracted from his heated discussion with Veronica. His eyes widened and his grip on his guitar loosened as he stared at possibly the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.
She wasn’t as striking and bold as Veronica, but she didn’t look as ‘girl next door’ as Betty either. She was wearing ripped jeans with a black strapless top and a backpack slung over one shoulder. Even if this wasn’t a small town and everyone knew everyone, it was extremely obvious that she was new. She had a pile of papers clutched in her hands and her eyes were darting rapidly from them to look up and around the bustling school as she navigated her way through the unfamiliar grounds.
“Who is that?” Archie breathed out before he could restrain himself. The rest of the table turned to look at him at the sound of his voice. Jughead and Betty exchanged smirks at his speechless state.
“Don’t even think about it Arch, she’s out of reach, even for you.” Veronica noted resulting in the rest of the group to break out into laughter as Archie briefly shot her a glare before turning his attention back to the new girl.
“Gee thanks for that Veronica.” He grumbled knowing she was probably right.
“Anytime.” She grinned.
“42, 43... 44.” *yn* mumbled under her breath, coming to a stop when she reached the number written on the piece of paper alongside the locker code the receptionist had given her. For a few minutes she fiddled with the unfamiliar lock before successfully opening her new locker up.
Letting out a small sigh she shoved her books into the locker, desperately trying to ignore the feeling of dozens of pairs of eyes burning holes into her back. Fuck she hated being the new kid. As she scanned her timetable, loud and obnoxious male voices infiltrated her ears. Only one high school group could make that much noise.
The jocks.
“Please don’t notice me, please leave me alone, please let me be.” She internally begged as the voices grew louder.
“Boys do my eyes deceive me, or do I spot some fresh meat?” She overheard one of the boys call out.
Fuck.
“Just ignore them, *yn*.” She mentally told herself.
“I think you’re right, Chuck.” She heard another respond as she kept her head in her locker and grabbed the books she needed for her next class. Inhaling a sharp breath she didn’t even glance in their direction as she slammed her locker shut and swivelled around to walk off to her first class.
“Woah, woah, woah - where are you off to in such a hurry sweetheart?” An attractive football player grinned as he slid in front of her to block her path.
“Class.” She answered bluntly, keeping her eyes fixed on the ground as she tried to ignore the queasy feeling in her stomach at his sleazy nickname.
“Why so angry gorgeous? We don’t even know each other.” He continued, mirroring her steps so she couldn’t move around him. She swallowed and finally lifted her head up to lock eyes with the guy she assumed to be Chuck.
“Lets keep it that way.” She retorted before once again side stepping him in an attempt to escape his hungry eyes.
“Oh c’mon sweetheart, at least tell me your name.” He smarmed as he placed a hand on the locker so his arm was blocking her path. She inhaled a sharp breath and shot him a blazing look of pure hatred before opening her mouth.
“My name starts with F and ends with U.” She snarled before cocking her head and shooting him a sarcastic smile. “Can you spell that, genius?” She asked, shooting him one last glare before shoving her way forcefully past him and hurrying down the hall.
Archie bit his lip as he wondered down the hall, barely even registering where he was going. Ever since he had laid eyes on the new girl he hadn’t been able to get her out of his head. All he could think about was what he was going to say to her when he finally got the opportunity to speak to her but everything he had come up with so far sounded ridiculously dumb.
As he turned the corner is his eyes widened and he felt his legs come to a halt when his gaze fell on her. She was coming towards him at a fast pace, her head was fixed on her books in front of her and if Archie hadn’t been so distracted by how gorgeous she was, he would’ve noticed something was wrong.
When she finally raised her head the pair happened to lock eyes briefly. Archie felt his lips tug up into what he was sure was an extremely awkward smile as she passed him.
As *yn* hastily walked down the hallway, desperate to get away from the pack of jocks her eyes fell on a red-headed boy standing in the middle of the walkway. She studied the boy who was now shooting her a small smile, she was about to smile back when she noticed the blaring blue and yellow varsity jacket that was shrugged on over his broad shoulders. Her face dropped and she sent him a simmering glare before stalking past him and around a corner.
Archie felt his stomach drop as his smile was met with a less then friendly look from the mysterious girl.
What had he done now?
“Ok, so what did everyone find out about mystery girl?” Veronica queried as she looked expectantly around the table.
There was an awkward few moments of silence as everyone’s eyes darted around the booth. “Oh come on seriously? Nothing?” Veronica huffed, crossing her arms in annoyance.
“Well I found out she already hates me.” Archie sighed.
“What? How do you know!?” Betty questioned, her eyes narrowing in confusion. “She gave me the biggest death stare this morning in the hallway.”
“Are you sure it was a death stare?” Veronica asked. “Yeah how long did she look at you for?” Kevin added. “Are you sure she was even looking at you?” Betty commented. “Yeah, she might’ve been staring into space and didn’t even notice you.” Jughead agreed.
“Trust me guys, it was a death stare.” Archie insisted, letting out a defeated sigh as he rested his head in the palm of his hand.
“Don’t look so glum Arch, you don’t know for sure.” Betty reassured her best friend, leaning across the booth to squeeze his arm in comfort just as the door to Pop’s jingled open.
“Speak of the devil.” Veronica muttered from beside Archie.
The group all, not so subtly at that, turned around to see none other than the new girl making her way into the diner. They watched curiously as she spoke to Pop, most likely ordering her food. The group strained their ears to hear what she was saying but the only thing they could make out was her polite laugh as she smiled at him before taking a seat in a booth a few down from theirs.
“Do you think she’s waiting for someone?” Betty asked curiously.
Archie peered out from the booth, poking his head out into the walkway to take another look at her. She had pulled out her school books and was in the process of putting her headphones in. He retracted his head and straightened up in the booth. “I don’t think so.” Archie muttered before taking a sip of his milkshake.
“Arch, this is your perfect opportunity!” Veronica exclaimed, her eyes shining in excitement.
“Opportunity for what?” He asked, his brow creasing in confusion.
“To go introduce yourself and talk to her!” She continued enthusiastically. Her proposition was met with a rally of boisterous agreements from the rest of the group.
“No, no, no- there is no way in hell I am going over there.” He refused adamantly.
“Oh come on Andrews, what’s the worst thing that could happen?” Jughead laughed.
“Um I don’t know? Maybe she just death stares me like she did this morning?!”
“You’re like the hottest guy at school - you seriously think she’s going to reject you?” Kevin grinned.
“But-”
“Archie Andrews - if you don’t go over there in the next two minutes I am going to personally go over there and drag her over here myself if that’s what I have to do to get you two talking.”
There was a pause as Archie stared wide-eyed at Veronica who just cocked an eyebrow at him and pursed her lips. Yeah she was fully serious, he decided.
“Fine.” He muttered resentfully as he forced himself up onto his feet and out of the booth.
He swallowed nervously as he stared at the completely oblivious girl, his heart pounding so hard against his rib cage he felt as if the bone might crack at any moment.
“One minute Archikins.” Veronica sung out which prompted his feet to start moving away from the booth.
“Come on Archie, she’s just normal person, just introduce yourself and have a normal conversation.” He mentally told himself as he neared her table. If it wasn’t for Veronica’s eyes piercing the back of his head he would have chickened out and walked straight past her, instead he forced himself to come to a stop beside her.
He shifted his weight from each foot nervously as he stood before her. She was completely oblivious to his presence as she continued to study, her plump lips moving slightly as she mouthed the words to whatever song she was listening to. He cleared his throat and scratched the back of his head but her eyes remained glued to the book in front of her.
A cough from the other side of the diner made him tear his gaze from her to look at Veronica who was sending him a pointed look. He inhaled a sharp breath and mustered up whatever confidence he had before opening his mouth.
“Excuse me.” He spoke.
Nothing.
He finally garnered her attention by giving her a gentle tap on her shoulder causing her to jump slightly in her spot and jerk her head up. Somehow, his heart rate managed to speed up even faster when he locked eyes with her mesmerising doe-like eyes which were framed by beautiful thick lashes, causing him to briefly become speechless.
“Sorry about that I- um well-” He fumbled as she took her headphones out to give him her full attention. “No, no it’s ok, I always have my music way too loud.” She explained kindly. A grin spread across his lips as her sweet and almost melodic voice entered his ears.
“I’m Archie Andrews.” He introduced, sticking his hand out for her to shake. “*yn* *yln.” She answered, shooting him a tight lipped smile as she shook his hand briefly.
“I saw you at school today and figured you were new so I thought I’d come introduce myself.” He explained as her eyes darted up and down his figure.
When her eyes landed on his varsity jacket her smile dropped but she was quick to paint a clearly forced smile back onto her lips. “Are you on the football team?” *yn* asked him as her eyes once again found their way back to his jacket.
He was about to ask her how she knew that when he glanced down and realised he was still wearing his letterman jacket. “Oh yeah! I’m the quarterback actually.” He explained before he could stop himself.
“Jeez Archie, did you want to sound more like a jerk?” He silently cursed himself.
“Oh.” Was all she said before she glanced back down at her book.
“Anyways I was thinking I could maybe give you a tour of the town sometime, it’s probably going to be pretty quick but still, I can show you all the hidden spots they leave off the map.” He chuckled as he eyed her nervously, gaging her reaction.
*yn* swallowed and forced herself to look back up at Archie at his offer. She bit her lip as she eyed him briefly before answering him.
“Listen Archie... I’m flattered, really-” She spoke before letting out a small sigh. “But I came to Riverdale to get a fresh start, and hanging out with you and your friends... that would definitely not be a fresh start.” She explained. “You seem nice- well nicer than your friends but I really don’t want to associate with people like you... I’m sorry.”
As she turned her gaze away from Archie she happened to look over at the other end of the diner. The rest of the group unfortunately didn’t have time to make themselves look totally naturally and for a brief moment *yn* was staring back at four wide eyed teenagers.
Her cheeks flushed in embarrassment when she realised that the group had been listening to everything that had just been said. Feeling her cheeks burning she hastily rose to her feet and scrambled to grab her books.
“I should go.” She mumbled, not even looking at Archie as she scooped up her books and hurried past him towards the door.
As the door jingled signally her departure Archie numbly made his way back over to his friends. He sat down numbly, his face frozen as he tried to comprehend what had just happened.
“Ok...” Veronica trailed off, coughing awkwardly as the rest of the group looked around, all as speechless as Archie. “I think it’s safe to say that it was probably a death stare.”
“Whose party is this again?” *yn* shouted over the ridiculously loud music.
“I think it was Chelsea’s, you’re the one that was invited, you should know!” Ethel answered back.
“Actually, I was invited by one of her friends.” *yn* explained, raising a brow jokingly at her. “You still got invited to a party! That’s one more invite than I’ve ever had.” Ethel sighed, a forlorn look making its way onto her features.
“Hey no! What did we agreed on before we got here?” *yn* scolded.
“To have a fun time.” Ethel groaned which caused a triumphant smirk to find its way onto *yn* features. “Exactly, and moping around is definitely not fun.”
“Hey I was not moping I was-”
“Here, down this right now.” *yn* cut her off as she grabbed a shot glass off the table beside her and pressed it against Ethel’s lips. She grinned as she watched Ethel begrudgingly take the shot before taking one herself.
“Oh my god that’s disgusting.” Ethel coughed as she pulled a face of disgust causing *yn* to giggle.
Since *yn* had arrived at Riverdale a few weeks ago, Ethel had ended up becoming her closest friend and she couldn't be more grateful. At her old school, Ethel was the complete opposite of who she would usually hang out which was why she was so perfect to befriend. However, despite promising herself she would be on the straight and narrow, a house party was an offer too tantalising for her to refuse. And after grilling the hosts friend and triple checking no one from the football team would be coming, she decided that she could treat herself to a fun night out.
Besides, she couldn’t live in fear forever.
“Oh no.” Ethel mumbled causing *yn* to snap out of her thoughts.
“What is it?” She asked, following Ethel’s gaze that was locked on something just behind her left shoulder. “Oh no.” She echoed when she saw exactly what, or more precisely who, Ethel was looking at.
In the doorway of Chelsea’s house stood none other than more than half of the football team, with Reggie and Chuck at the front of the pack.
“Oh fuck, fuck, fuck.” *yn* cursed as she turned back around, praying with everything that they hadn’t spotted her. “Have they seen me?” She whispered to Ethel.
“I don’t think so, c’mon lets sneak out the back.” Ethel murmured as she began to guide *yn* to shuffle against the wall as they skirted the edge of the room.
As they neared the kitchen, *yn* thought for a fleeting that she had done it, that she had escaped unnoticed. Oh boy how wrong she was.
“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” A voice purred, so slimy that it could only belong to one person.
“What do you want, Chuck?” *yn* huffed, straightening her back and squaring her shoulders defiantly as she turned around to face him.
“Oh I think you know what I want beautiful.” He smirked as he moved forward to stroke her face.
“Have you suffered one to many blows to the head from football or are you just so naturally thick in the head that you don’t understand the meaning of ‘no’?” *yn* spat in disgust as she pushed his hand away from her face and took a step away from him.
“Oh c’mon sweetheart, you may say no right now but I guarantee once you’ve had a slice of this chocolate cake, you won’t be able to say no to me ever again.” He grinned which caused *yn* to wrinkle her nose in disgust. Did he really just refer to himself as chocolate cake?
“Chuck you are probably the most vile thing I have ever encountered. I can guarantee you that even if you were the last being on earth, you still wouldn’t have a chance.” *yn* snarled.
Chuck’s face dropped and his face formed into a scowl at her words. Sensing that he was truly pissed off now *yn* tried to get past him but Chuck slammed his hand against the wall beside her head and used his body to pin her against the plaster.
“Chuck, get the fuck off me.” She hissed to him as she wriggled against him, but with his full weight against her there was no hope.
“Don’t you understand the meaning of ‘no’?” He mimicked her as he leant forward and pressed a kiss to her neck.
“Hey!” Someone shouted from behind Chuck as his body was yanked off *yn*’s revealing none other than Archie Andrews.
“She said get off.” Archie growled as he let go of Chuck’s shirt and pushed him aggressively.
Chuck let out a breathy chuckle as he eyed Archie before turning to look at *yn* who was still pressed against the wall. “What’s she done to get you so whipped Andrews? Did she give you a sneak pic of her goods, you know she’s known for that.” Chuck sniggered. *yn* felt her stomach drop at his words as all the blood drained from her face - he couldn’t possibly know? Could he?
“What the hell are you talking about?” Archie questioned.
“Let’s just say that Reggie here knows a few guys from the new girls old school and has quite a few interesting stories to tell - don’t you Reg?” Chuck grinned wickedly as he glanced over at Reggie.
“Oh do I.” Reggie smirked smugly as he eyed *yn* up and down.
“Don’t - please just don’t.” *yn* begged him as desperate tears pricked at her eyes.
“Like I’m going to do anything for you slut-” As soon as the words slipped out of Chuck’s mouth Archie had him pinned up against the wall, his shirt fisted tightly in his hand as he glared at him.
“Don’t you dare call her that.” Archie hissed.
“What are you going to do about it ballad boy? Write a mean song about me? Or-” Chuck didn’t get a chance to finish his sentence before Archie’s fist collided with his face causing a collective gasp to echo through the room filled with teenagers.
“I suggest you get your friends to keep their mouths shut Chuck, because if I hear any kind of rumours about her- I’ll kick your fucking ass. Got that?” Archie threatened before releasing Chuck from the wall. *yn* watched with wide eyes as Chuck slumped against the wall with a now bleeding nose.
Her eyes darted over to Archie to see him already eyeing her, his chest heaving up and down from exertion and his fist already beginning to bruise. Before she could say anything he swallowed and turned his back to her, leaving just as quickly as he had arrived.
*yn* glanced around the still silent room and felt herself growing embarrassed when she realised that everyone’s eyes were on her. Without a word she turned and hurried through the kitchen and out the back door into Chelsea’s backyard.
“*yn*! what happened!” A voice called and she turned to her right to see Ethel hurrying towards her. “I tried to get to you but Chuck’s stupid friends locked me out.” She explained as she watched *yn* take a seat on the back door stairs and put her head in her hands.
“*yn* are you ok?” She murmured worriedly as she moved to sit beside her and eyed her nervously.
“It-it was awful Ethel, Chuck and Reggie- they know about everything at my old school.”
“What?! How?”
“I-I don’t know Reggie knows some guys from there and they must’ve told him. If it wasn’t for Archie Andrews intervening and punching Chuck they would have told everyone.”
“Wait Archie punched Chuck?” Ethel exclaimed to which *yn* nodded. “Yeah he did, I don’t know why he would’ve done that though I mean they’re friends aren’t they?”
“Chuck and Archie? No way, they hate each other. Actually most of the football team hate Archie because he’s actually a decent person.” Ethel chuckled humourlessly.
“What do you mean? He’s on their team isn’t he?” *yn* questioned in confusion.
“Yeah, but that doesn’t mean he’s like the rest of them. He’s one of the nicest guys in Riverdale, he cares about everyone, I mean he even went out of his way to talk to me last year when I had things going on to make sure I was ok. Me!”
*yn* didn’t reply as Ethel continued to ramble on about all the nice things Archie Andrews had done. An immense amount of guilt washed through *yn* as she remembered the things that she had said to Archie at the diner. She had treated him like crap all because she had assumed that he was a jerk because he was a jock.
Oh god, what had she done?
“I still can’t believe you punched the Chuck Clayton in the face.” Kevin exasperated as he stared admiringly at Archie.
“Did it feel as good as it sounds?” Jughead asked.
“Better.” Archie chuckled. “Well if that doesn’t get *yn* swooning I don’t know what will.” Veronica remarked. Archie opened his mouth to reply when a voice behind him cut him off.
“Hey Andrews! We need you for warm up in 20 minutes!”
“Yes coach!” Archie shouted back as his coach walked past before turning his attention back to Veronica.
“I doubt it, I’m pretty sure she still hates me.” He sighed before forcing a laugh past his lips. Veronica was about to reply when something behind Archie caused a smirk to spread up onto her lips.
“What?” He asked her curiously.
“I think you have a visitor.” She grinned mischievously before pointing past him. He turned around, following her gesture and froze when he saw who was standing in front of him.
*yn*.
He fought the urge to rub his eyes to make sure he wasn’t hallucinating as he locked eyes with her. “Hi.” She smiled softly as she gave him an awkward wave before putting her hands in the back pockets of her jean shorts.
“Hi.” He spoke, stepping towards her as a smile involuntarily spread across his lips. “I didn’t think this was your scene?” He asked her as he tilted his head towards the football field that was slowly growing more and more packed with spectators.
“Trust me, it used to be.” She spoke quietly as she followed his gaze and momentarily took in the atmosphere around her. She sucked in a deep breath and cleared her throat awkwardly as she turned back to look at Archie.
“Archie, can we talk?” She asked him. “Alone.” She added before glancing behind him to emphasise her point. He followed her eyes to see his friends all standing close by, all totally ‘not’ listening to their conversation.
“Yeah of course, I don’t have long before the game starts but c’mon I know the perfect place.”
So with that the pair walked in awkward silence as Archie lead her away from the bustling crowd. Eventually they came to a stop and *yn* realised that they were standing underneath one of the stands which somehow acted as a soundproof barrier of sorts from the crowd forming outside.
The two fell into silence for a few moments as *yn* kept her gaze fixed on the ground and Archie studied her curiously. He was about to open his mouth to ask her what she wanted to talk to him about when she lifted her head to look at him.
“I just wanted to talk to you because I- because I wanted to apologise for misjudging you.”
Archie’s eyes widened in surprise at her quiet words and the urge to speak flowed over him, however he bit his tongue and waited for her to continue.
“When I was at my old school, I guess you could say I was ‘popular’. I was on the cheerleading squad, my parents always used to let me through huge parties and I was dating the star quarterback, Josh.” She continued before inhaling a sharp breath.
“Everything was great, I had or thought I had good friends and I truly loved Josh. In fact I loved him so much that when he convinced me to send him photos of me because it would show him how much I loved him I did it without a second thought. Of course now I have the benefit of hindsight it’s pretty obvious that he never loved me, I was just too blind to see it.” She sighed.
“By the time I realised it was too late, Josh had decided to send my photos to the entire football team which naturally of course ended up getting sent around to the entire school. After that I practically was a social pariah, my ‘friends’ just laughed at me and called me a slut and the football team either teased me or they tried to hit on me because they thought I was easy.” She explained before finally forcing herself to look up at Archie.
“Anyways, it ended up getting so bad that my parents and I moved here to Riverdale. When we moved I vowed to myself that I wouldn't associate myself with anyone like Josh, or my friends. I know it’s wrong for me to assume all jocks are assholes but I couldn’t help myself, that last year was the worst year of my life and just the thought of it happening again-” She cut herself off as a shiver ran up her spine and a sick feeling formed in her stomach.
“That’s all I have to say, I understand if you don’t accept my apology or if you judge me for what I did but... I just felt like I owed it to you to explain why I acted the way I did.” She confessed.
There were a few seconds of tense silence as Archie tried to process everything that he had just heard and did his attempt to mentally formulate a response.
“*yn* there’s no way I would ever judge you for what you did, I’m sure you did really love him and thought he’d keep it a secret. And of course I’m going to accept your apology, I can’t even begin to imagine what it must have been like for you to go through that and with people like Chuck acting the way that he does, I understand why you would want to keep your distance from me.”
Silence once again engulfed the two teenagers as *yn* stared in awe at the boy before her and Archie stared back with just as much awe in his eyes. *yn* was eventually the one to break eye contact, glancing down at the ground briefly to recompose herself before looking back up at Archie.
“You should probably go and get ready for the game..”
“Oh right! Yeah the game!” He exclaimed realising he had completely forgotten about it. “You’re staying to watch right?” He asked her which caused a small blush to form on her cheeks.
“Wouldn't miss it.” She joked, flashing him a grin which he returned giddily. After staring at her starry-eyed for a moments he remembered that he was running late and nodded before scrambling towards the field causing her to giggle.
24-24, the big red numbers blared back at Archie as he lined himself up with the rest of the team. There were 30 seconds left on the clock, 30 seconds for them to score and to win. He could faintly hear his teammates discussing tactics but his thoughts were occupied by something, or someone, else entirely. His eyes briefly flitted to the stands in search of one person only. It didn’t take long for him to find *yn* seeing as he’d found himself looking over to her far too often throughout the duration of the match.
He only had time to look at her for a few moments before the loud whistle from the referee brought him back to reality. He had to focus. His feet carried him along the length of the field almost automatically as he refocused on the game.
“Andrews!” A voice shouted to his left. He looked over just in time to catch the ball spiralling towards him just before it could fall to the ground. He tried to drown out the screams of the crowd as he locked his eyes on the end of the field and sprinted as fast as his legs could carry him.
He managed to dodge two players from the other team and continued to run towards the touch down zone as he heard people begin to count down from 5. With all of the energy he had left he leapt forward and sailed through the air. It was like time had frozen as the crowd watched in awe as he landed just past the white line. The whistle of the referee signalling a touch down was the trigger that snapped everyone out of their state.
Cheers and shouts from the Riverdale supporters filled the night air as Archie pushed himself up onto his feet and his team mates sprinted towards him to congratulate him.
They won.
He grinned and looked around at his team mates and then over at the crowd to see that they were now all spilling onto the field to make their way over to the team. He spent the next few minutes weaving through the crowd, thanking people who congratulated him as he did so. His mind however was once again somewhere else as his eyes scanned the crowd for the one person he wanted to see.
“Archie!” A voice called from behind him. As he turned around he barely had time to prepare himself as *yn* leapt into his arms and hugged him tightly.
“Congratulations, I knew you could do it.” She beamed as she pulled away to look into his eyes. “Thanks, for a moment I honestly didn’t think we’d-”
Archie never got to finish that sentence, but seeing as it was because *yn* had hastily pressed her lips against his, he really didn’t mind. The kiss didn’t last long but it was long enough to garner some cheers and hollers from the crowd around them.
As the pair pulled away both had matching grins as they stared happily at each other. “What was that for?” He grinned.
“Think of it as my way of saying thank you.” She smiled mischievously. “Thank you for what exactly?” He chuckled as he stared down at her.
“For proving me so wrong Archie Andrews.”
I hope you all liked my first riverdale imagine babes!!!! <3

Summary: (Y/N) taking care of drunk Archie at Jughead’s birthday party.
Warnings: None, I don’t think
A/N: Hi, welcome to my first fanfic on Tumblr. I’ve never done this before, so I thought I might as well give it a shot.
Archie had finally lost it.
As soon as Valerie had thrown her drink on him and left, his eyes darted around helplessly, barely landing on mine before he turned and darted inside. I quietly excused myself from talking to Kevin and Joaquin and followed after him, following his voice up the stairs and into his bedroom.
“Just don’t sign the papers, Dad, please don’t do it,” he slurred into the phone, crying uncontrollably. He ended the call, turning around and noticing me in the doorway. “(Y/N)...” he whispered softly, tears filling his eyes once more.
“Arch...” I said softly, crossing the room and pulling him into a hug. He buried his face in my neck, finally letting all of the tears out.
“They just... Valerie doesn’t wanna talk to me, and my parents are finally getting their divorce. Jug’s mad at me. Why am I making everybody hate me?” he asked, his voice cracking.
“Hey, we don’t hate you, Archie,” I said. “C’mon. You’re really drunk right now, I think we need to get you in bed.”
"No, I don’t want to, I wanna-” he stopped suddenly, turning and running out of the room and into the bathroom, where I could hear him emptying the contents of his stomach into the toilet.
I hurried into the bathroom, kneeling next to him and rubbing his back slowly until he was done, then got him up and over to the sink so he could brush his teeth. “We really need to get you in bed, Archie,” I said again, and it was only then that he finally nodded and allowed me to get him tucked into bed. “Okay, I’m gonna go check on Jughead and make sure everything’s okay, alright?”
“No, wait,” he said, looking up at me. “will you stay with me? Please?” I nodded slowly, walking back over and climbing onto the other side of the bed next to him. “Does Jughead hate me?”
“No,” I shook my head, “he just doesn’t like parties, remember? And there’s a big one happening downstairs.”
“Valerie hates me,” he said matter-of-factly. “she threw her drink at me and left because I shut her out.”
“Valerie just needs time,” I assured him. “she’ll come around. Maybe you two just weren’t meant to be a couple. That doesn’t mean you can’t still be friends.”
“Do my parents hate me?” he asked then.
“No,” I said. “Arch, they love you. If anything, the divorce might be good. The three of you can finally get the closure you need, and you can move on from all of that.”
“And do you hate me, (Y/N)?” he asked finally.
“What?” I asked. “Where would you even get that idea from?”
“You haven’t talked to me in weeks,” he pointed out. “you’ve been avoiding me.”
It wasn’t as if I planned to avoid him. Things had just gotten so crazy with Jughead’s birthday and trying to figure out who killed Jason that Archie and I hadn’t had time to see each other. We’ve been best friends forever, and most nights were spent at Pop’s with a burger and a milkshake, but we were both just so busy that it hadn’t been able to happen for awhile.
“Arch, I’m so sorry,” I said. “I didn’t mean it. Things have just been crazy, you know that. I never meant to shut you out.”
“Because I love you,” he said then.
“I love you too, Archie,” I said, brushing a stray strand of hair from his face. “you know I do.”
“No,” he said, shaking his head. “you don’t get it. I love you, (Y/N/N). Like, love you, love you. In love with you.”
“You’re just drunk, Arch,” I reminded him. “you don’t mean all of these things.”
“Dammit, (Y/N), yes, I do mean it,” he said. “You’re sweet. You’re smart, funny, and God, you’re so beautiful. Why can’t you see how in love with you I am?”
“Tell me when you’re sober, then,” I said.
“I will,” he said, nodding. “I’ll tell you a thousand times.”
“Go to sleep,” I told him then. “and we’ll see how you feel in the morning,”
“Only if you stay with me,” he said, “promise?”
“I promise,” I said, climbing under the covers and crawling next to him as his eyes grew heavy.
I first opened my eyes to the bright sunlight streaming in through the window, and then the sound of Archie groaning next to me and trying to use his pillow to shield his eyes from the light.
I quickly got up out of bed, crossing over to the other side of the room and closing the blinds. I then walked back over towards Archie, kneeling down next to his side of the bed.
“Morning, sleepyhead,” I said softly, “can I get you anything?”
“Only you back in bed with me,” he said, slowly moving the pillow away from his face now that it wasn’t so blinding.
I nodded then, climbing back in bed and snuggling into his side. “So, you’re definitely not drunk anymore?”
“Nope,” he said, shaking his head, “and I definitely still feel the way about you as I did last night. That is, if you feel the same way.”
“Yanno, I think that can definitely be arranged,” I said with a smile, and his eyes lit up as a smile spread across his face as he leaned over, closing the distance between us by kissing me softly.
“And now that I’m sober,” Archie said playfully, breaking the kiss, “I can say it and have you know that I really mean it. I love you, (Y/N) (Y/L/N).”
