Req: i’d like to req a comfort for a poly with yoru and iso, like hc and a situation where they had a risky mission and just wanted to cool off in a human shark stack (sharks stack together to share heat :D did you know that?) and they’re like on a couch and watching a random cartoon, and they’re just cuddling(?)
Warnings: nothing major, mentions of minor injuries + minor blood, showering together (not inappropriately)
Silence.
Both you and Iso stood outside the jet in silence, his hand clamped firmly down on your shoulder. Less of a comfort and more of a warning.
The sound of the bomb quickly ticking away. Each tick filled your heart anxiety.
A clang behind you both startled you. “We should leave,”
It was Harbor, the cut on his lip was now dripping blood.
“They have time,” Iso said quietly. It wasn’t a statement but a demand. We weren’t going anywhere.
“Iso,” you tugged on his sleeve. The ground was starting to crackle, crates and other assorted items began to lift off the ground.
He simply repeated his previous sentence, “they have time,”
You looked off towards the bomb site, a cold chill ran through you. It was almost as if you had been plunged into ice water.
Another hand wrapped around your arm. You turned to face Harbor. The look on his face was urgent, but the look he received back almost broke his heart. He gave up trying to reason with the both of you and headed back towards the jet.
As soon as the jet switched on, everything stopped. The crates came crashing down and the ticking of the bomb had silenced. You hadn’t noticed before but one of Yoru’s gateway had been bumping into your foot. The familiar sound of him teleporting filled your ears. His usually near hair was messed up and his eyes were a mix of rage and concern.
Yoru roughly pushed Iso back making him stumble a few steps, before pulling him close. The arm on your shoulder being pulled off in the process.
“When I tell you to go that means get the hell out of here,” his voice was muffled into Iso’s shoulder.
Both of them grasped you yanking you into the tight hug. The fear and stress from the three of you melted away.
From the corner of your eye, you watched as Killjoy limped past the embrace and entered the jet. Everyone was back safe. It was time to go home.
The silence followed from outside, onto the jet, into HQ for debrief. It was only when all three of you had converged in Iso’s room did a real sigh of relief leave you all.
Yoru began turning the shower on while Iso gathered towels and you began peeling your dusty clothes off. Honestly everyone’s clothes would probably end up being tossed. Clove had already patched these enough they were starting to get worn out in general. You climbed in first immediately relaxing under the hot water, Yoru joining not too long after you.
His finger slowly dragged through your hair carefully unknotting it before applying shampoo. Iso joined soon after he had retrieved comfortable clothes for everyone. He looked like he had something to say but held it in. The three of you helped another remove the dust, grime, and blood from today’s mission off of each other. With each minute the tension had finally begun to ease up.
The shower ended quickly with teeth needing to be brushed next. You opened your mouth slightly as Iso gently grasped the side of your face. He brushed your teeth as gently as he could. Yoru brushed through your hair, detangling it softly. Although you could easily do these things yourself it was essential to the unwinding. For some reason missions that all three of you went on hit them the hardest when something went wrong. If something went wrong when just the two of them went they would laugh it off, it was no big deal to them.
You hadn’t realized Iso and Yoru were done until Iso had moved away. He mumbled something you didn’t quite catch before kissing Yoru on the forehead.
“I’m still mad at you,” Yoru grumbled back with no real anger. Iso just chuckled and exited the bathroom. You heard the TV click on, random cartoon noises filled the air faintly.
As he finished your hair you made eye contact with Yoru through the mirror.
“We weren’t going to leave you, you know,” You said. “No matter what you said,”
His arms wrapped around you, chin resting on your head. “You would have died,”
“We would have died either way,”
His eyebrows knit in confusion. You squirmed around in his arms to face him.
“You’re a part of us Ryo, If you had died, a piece of us would have died too. You were not being left behind,”
You watched a million emotions flash through his face; anger, confusion, regret, before finally acceptance.
“You’re stupid,” he mumbled.
You just smiled and tugged him out to where Iso was waiting in bed.
“Finally. I’m cold,” he announced.
“You have a blanket right here,” you gigged climbing up into the bed with him.
“It’s not good enough,” Iso insisted.
You rolled your eyes but flopped on top of him.
“Better?” Your voice was muffled into his shoulder.
“Yes,” he sounded smug. Too smug. You started pulling away but you were just smushed into him by Yoru.
“Get off of me you big oaf,” You tried wiggling away.
“I’m cold too,”
“You’re not,”
It was no use fighting them however. The two of them had you sandwiched between in a very warm snuggle stack. You sighed relaxing into them.
Iso began humming a familiar song, hand scratching and playing with Yoru’s hair. It was oddly domestic. A rare moment when the silence was good.
“I love you both,”
Yoru turned slightly to look at you. “You love me more right?”
“I love you equally Ryo,”
“Well then fuck you, I love Iso more,” The hand of his that had now grabbed yours told you otherwise.
“Shut up and watch TV” Iso grumbled before adding a few moments later, “I love you both too,”
