Wooooooo, it’s currently half 1 in the morning and I’m trying to keep myself up and I got really inspired so rip me! Hope you enjoy anon! I loved writing this and might just do a follow up.
Also which format do you guys prefer the 3rd person (y/n smiled shyly) or 2nd person (you smiled shyly)?
Warnings: Mild swearing, bad nightmare writing
“And remember, that’s just a stream! A LIVE stream!” Matt half-yelled the outro, voice rough after streaming for god knows how long.
“And don’t do experiments with the human consciousness!” You laughed, your own tiredness getting to you and making you slightly delirious. As Jason ended the stream you slumped backwards, groaning.
“I didn’t realised how long that would last otherwise I would’ve done two streams,” Matt said, you opened your eyes and looked at him.
“I’m all booked up for the next, uhh,” you check your non-existent watch, “three weeks,” Matt chuckled, running a hand through his hair. “Fuck me, I’m tired,”
“You can stay here if you want, you’re in no state to drive for an hour,” Matt stood from the couch, grabbing your jacket sleeve and pulling you along, you stumble initially before you let yourself be dragged to a door. “Here’s the spare bedroom, night y/n,”
“Night Matt,” you mumble as you close the door, having just enough sense to take off your jeans before flopping onto the bed, falling asleep in mere minutes.
...
It’s dark, you can’t see three foot in front of you. The air clings to your skin, filling your lungs and suffocating you. Distant ticking echoes through the slime. You can’t move, not matter what you do, you can’t move, can’t yell, can’t scream.
Sweat trickles down your temple, your back, your neck.
You’re trapped like a rat, vulnerable like a baby deer.
Pressure pushes you forwards, falling slowly to lie face-down in the darkness. It pushes on your head, back, legs, arms.
You try and scream but nothing comes out, you try and move but your body is frozen, you try and free yourself but it won’t work.
The pressure becomes unbearable.
You try and scream again, the tiniest squeak comes out.
“Y/n!”
You struggle.
It does nothing.
“Y/N!”
...
You woke with a gasp, eyes slowly adjusting to the darkness of your room. Matt was lightly shaking you, looking more concerned that you’d ever seen him before.
“Y/n! Oh thank God...” he breathed, slouching down, “I was just falling asleep when I heard you scream and you wouldn’t wake up,” your heart was still hammering in your ears and every inch of your body was drenched in sweat.
“M-Matt,” your voice was hoarse, throat dry, “I’m sorry, I-”
“It’s okay y/n,” Matt said softly, giving you a small smile, “Wanna’ talk about it?” you only shook your head in reply. “Will you be okay?” you stayed quiet, not exactly knowing how to answer, you wanted him to stay, but how could you word that without something creepy? “Do you want me to stay?”
“Please...” Matt nodded, walking around and lying down next to you. Saying nothing as he poked you and opened his arms. You tried not to think too hard about the situation as you let him wrap his arms around you and slowly rub circles into your back. His breathing, the rhythm of it, comforted you, and you let yourself drift back to sleep.
