As someone who dislikes writing in their books, I have come to the conclusion that I have no choice when it comes to this class I'm taking. It takes some getting used to.
Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?
I love alternate ending fics and continuation fics. Especially for stories/fandoms where there are plot holes, open endings, and sometimes bad writing from the original.
It's wonderful to see what writers use to make their own stories from those ideas.
I guess it's more of a 'What if?' type of thing. This is seen a lot in fandoms like Star Wars (especially with Clone Wars) and Harry Potter.
So yea, alternate ending fics where writers are creative and can write a story so well that you think it's canon.
[The morning after a fanfic marathon]:
I am going to be doing something completely different with the next book I am reading. And by that I mean I am reading along with an audiobook. I don't normally read along with audiobook since I (like many other readers) like to visualize how characters speak. But this seemed like a great opportunity.
I'm going to be reading Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree who is also the reader/speaker for the audiobook. The book itself is described as being high fantasy with low stakes. And considering I'm currently watching Vox Machina on Amazon Prime, this seems like right up my current interest. Plus it's a giant difference to the realistic fiction I normally read.
Welp! Enough talking. Time to get to reading.
Watching a movie/show be like: I can make an au out of this
When characters in Good Omens are talking about the Spanish Inquisition
