‘17 New Years Bookings
As the year comes to a close I find myself looking back on last years books and future books yet to be published. I’ve come to the abrupt conclusion that many of the books from series I reliably waited on every year are finished. Next year my reading calendar is remarkably clear which means I must find new series that interest me. Last year there were a surprising amount of stand-alone novels or ends to duologies. Also, some of my favorite YA authors wrote middle grade, and while I have nothing against the genre, the content tends to be too young for me in an inescapable way. Most frustratingly, a handful of my favorite authors have not updated the release of the third book in a two-year-old series. Yes, I know this is a healthy sign that I should forget and move on from a book that is clearly remaining unpublished, but I refuse to act rationally. That is to say, I need more people to write more book so I can maintain a healthy reading calendar. Well, here’s to hoping for more brilliant authors in the future. Happy reading!
