Hello everyone and welcome to the middle of the week! Today I was inspired by the wonderful @travels.along.my.bookshelf who recently posted a #readingodyssey or how her reading had changed over the past five years. I don’t think mine has changed an awful lot but I’m definitely braver than I used to be regarding more experimental books which just used to intimidate me 😂 Now I can give them a go and if they’re not for me, that’s okay! 2022 - I’ve recently finished The Paper Palace, longlisted for the @womensprize this year. I’m reading the entire longlist and wow, this is a strong contender! 2021 - this year will always be the year I discovered @shafakelif 10 Minutes 38 Seconds In This Strange World was captivating and unique. I loved it! 2020 - the year of Betty vs Hamnet for my favourite book of the year 😂 I still can’t decide but the former had and continues to have such an impact on me. 2019 - I read The Great Alone and decided I had to read Kristin Hannah’s back catalogue! I haven’t loved everything but there are some real gems in there that I would highly recommend. 2018 - All That Remains which I actually listened to on audio (highly recommended either way). Then I was lucky enough to go see Sue Black talk with bestie @keeperofpages She’s funny, intelligent, a total boss, fiercely passionate, not afraid to say anything what she thinks, a scientist 👩🔬 and Scottish 😂 I think I might be a little bit in awe/in love with her 🤣 I’d love to know your thoughts on my reading odyssey.
