sorry for the selfies recently I'm trash
I need to get to know London again. Breathe it in, every quiver of its beating heart.
Flying through Water
Today, the sun is the center of a broken dippy egg soft and flowing into the white, foggy sky around it
Today, the fog is a translucent blanket (it is a strange sort of fog gathering more in the valleys than it is hanging from the heavens)
I'm standing on a mountain, looking down and all I can see is the tops of trees the rest of their towering masses are submerged (I am reminded of a lake in Washington in which there lives an entire forest and when the tide goes out, you can see the tops of the trees fighting their way to the surface)
Today I am a flightless bird I am submerged
(Hopefully my wings will come in soon)
reading nook network app ;)
Hi there! Im Zee! I love reading (obviously:P) and wasting my time doing other stuff like watching way to much anime, playing piano, and writing because writing is fun!
If I had to pick a favorite book, I'd have to say Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. Its not my usual read, but I remember picking it up on recommendation from a friend, and once I started, I couldn't stop.
My usual genres include fantasy and science fiction, but I'm open to trying pretty much anything. (And paranormal romance is my guilty pleasure genre. The Iron King, anybody? ;) One of my favorite authors is Cinda Williams Chima, who has got two series out, the Heir Chronicles and the Seven Realms. I'm partial to the Seven Realms, which is about a boy named Hans Alister, a streetrat in the city, and how he works against the evil Wizards who want to run the country of the Fells. ahhhhhhitssogood. I've also read the first five books of the Legend of Drizzt series by RA Salvatore, which I really enjoyed, but I prefer the War of the Spider Queen series to it. Both are about Drow in the city of Menzoberranzen and how they go about living in a society that is inherently evil and chaotic. (Its based off of the Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying game)
I do spend alot of my reading time reading D&D books, and I'm not really sure why that is... I love picking up on guidelines to build worlds (I prefer playing a Dungeon Master) and reading these books has greatly helped my writing abilities.
Other books I have in my library include Magic the Gathering books (a little Magic cant go awry) , Game of Thrones (because dayum can George RR Martin write), Divergent (I reaaaallly like those post-apolcalyptic type things), Harry Potter (ahhhhh), Rangers Apprentice (Which was good for the first four books, but went down hill as they progressed 3:), The Darkest Minds (its by Alexandra Bracken, its super good), The Alchemyst (Another good one, by Micheal Scott. I love the way the entire series happens over the course of like a week, he can really manage his time well in his writing), The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (A non-fiction actually! (i know, surprise) but a great read!) And the Septimus Heap series. of course, theres more, but that would probably stretch this post out way to much ;P
Anyway, it would be really cool to join the network, so considering me would be awesome ;33
Toodleoo!
Hey there! I’m Kai, and I love reading all different kinds of books. I really enjoy kids/teen fiction (Harry Potter, Spiderwick, Talking to Dragons, Percy Jackson, Oracles of Delphi Keep, Alchemyst, Gone, Incarceron, The Roar), poetry (Edgar Allen Poe, Robert Frost, Ellen Hopkins (books), and writing poetry), adult fiction (The Sight, Perdido Street Station, The Scar, Game of Thrones, Name of the Wind) and adult nonfiction (Freakonomics, Superfreakonomics, Poisoner’s Handbook, Violinist’s Thumb). I actually work at my public library so it’s awesome and I get to see all the new and exciting stuff come in. Other than that, I’m not very interesting. I have two cats and I practice Aikido, I love art, music, writing, playing my numerous instruments, and sleeping. I have a wonderful boyfriend and fantastic friends who support the crap out of me, and I really love the smell of jasmine because it’s a nostalgia thing. Yep. That’s me.
My name is Maddie. I love to read. Favorite books are The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, Maximum Ride, Night Circus, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, anything by John Green or James Patterson. I just finished The Picture of Dorian Gray and I dont think I will ever be over Basil's death.
