My New Year's Readsolutions
I got this from a youtube video. Jenny from Jellafy made these questions and I decided this would be a good thing to do. This is just some goals that will keep me reading. This doesn't necessarily mean I'll do every single one them. I just want to challenge myself a bit. Anyways, let's get started!
1. Aww I've always wanted to pick this up!
Which unread author do you want to read this year?
There are so many authors I have to check out, so I'm going to name a few. Maggie Stiefvater, Julie Kagawa, Maria V. Snyder, Kasie West, Libba Bray, Cassandra Clare, Lauren Kate, Holly Black, Scott Westerfeld, and Aimee Carter. All these authors have written multiple books/series that I really want to read and I've never read anything from them yet either.
2. Everybody's read it:
Which new book series do you want to start this year?
The mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices, and Vampire Academy Series. There are many more but I feel like these are the most popular books on my to be read list. Everyone or most have read these books.
3. FINALLY!
Which new releases are you most excited for in 2014?
Opposition by Jennifer L. Armentrout, The One Keira Cass, Sweet Reckoning by Wendy Higgins, Take Me On by Katie McGarry, and the third book in the Arcana Chronicles by Kresley Cole. There are bunch more but I think these are the ones I'm looking forward too the most.
4. Gettin' out of the comfort zone:
Which new genre do you want to venture into?
Historical Fiction; It's a genre I'm having so much trouble reading but there are a few books in that genre that I really want to read so I need to get out of my contemporary, dystopian, fantasy, and paranormal box.
5. Reminiscing last year:
What was your biggest reading accomplishment in 2013? (This can be anything!)
The Host by Stephanie Myers. I read it so early in the year I keep forgetting about it. But that was actually a really good book that really made me feel really accomplished after reading. It's a pretty big book.
6. Break a bad reading habit!
Which one shall it be?!
Read books until 3 or 4 in the morning. It's a horrible habit. One of my non reading resolutions of the year is to go to bed early. I tend to stay up late whether I'm reading or not. But books tend to be the main reason for my lack of sleep.
7. New year, new game:
What's your reading goal for 2014?
I read 50 books in 2013. But I think I can do more this year. I'm going to go with 60 books.
8. Challenge yourself!
What do you want to accomplish in 2014 in regards to reading or books?
I want to read all the books I own before buying anything new. I still have books that I haven't read and I've had these books for almost a year now.
