It just hit me that there's a very simple way Reaghoul could've resurrected Lord Zedd at his most evil, even if Zedd was purified instead of killed. Yes, even without taking the reveals from "Once and Always" into account.

Y'see, all he would've had to do is seek out the purified Zedd, MURDER HIM IN COLD BLOOD, and then bring him back from the dead as his slave. Easy as that!

Heck, it even explains why the purified Zedd from In Space never showed up, but not why the Purified Rita isn't trying to restore her husband to normal (then again, she could ALSO be rather busy attending to her duties as the Mystic Mother, especially if Squid Ink Inc unleashed any other ancient evils she'd usually keep in check).
