Invisible
No one really ever thinks what it would be like if they were invisible, but some teenagers know without really thinking about it. They are ignored and looked past and don’t want to seem pushy when they want to be seen. They are pushed down so far its difficult to come up again. Hello? Hello? I am here you know! These words echo around a head bouncing around with insecurities. Oh I’m fine, no I’m not upset. People look past you can continue on, you are talking to someone and then someone better comes along and you are smoke. You try to explain it to people, but they don’t understand. Then they send you a text a few days later “I don’t like the way you’ve been treating me, so I’ve decided I don’t want to be your friend anymore” that when your stomach drops, all hope is gone. Sitting alone at lunchtime and recess, hiding your tears from passers by but secretly wanting to be seen and comforted but it never happens. Teenagers are too involved in their lives and high school is a jungle that you want to make it though. You want to graduate, you want to go to the ball and you want to have a leavers jacket but you don’t want to do it with the people who don’t even know you’re still there.
