Hunny's overnight coverage is sick, so he thought he might have to go in, but the new kid had to take yesterday off to drive his dad & grandma to different doctors' appointments, and so his week would've been 32 hours, so Hunny asked if he could cover the overnight, then still do his normal shift 3-11, but Hunny said that if [Hunny] had to go in, that [Hunny] was just gonna take the rest of the day off, so that he didn't go into overtime, cuz his regional manager is deathly allergic to decency. My dad, 100% serious: "I don't get people today. No one wants to work." mom @ dad, at least: "...she's sick?" I'm not even sure who all he was referring to. This is just shuffling 2 possibly willing people to cover 1 sick person for 1 shift. I... What? The new kid who we didn't know if he would logistically be able to do the overnight, even though he already knew, said he wanted to, but just had to double check that he wasn't needed elsewhere between family & his gf was just in an accident. The woman who's sick? Or Hunny, for not wanting to work 12am-8am Saturday AND then 10am-6pm again, after having just worked 10am-6pm Friday? On WHAT SLEEP??? --------- I can't take this world, man... Managers are desperate to not pay anyone for anything, & GOD FORBID OVERTIME! But then when you try to make them happy just to keep them off your back, (more & more of us, as generational living becomes the norm again) you get to come home to family berating you for sleeping at all instead of working more for the manager, who, as I said, doesn't actually want you to work because then they have to pay you.

Someone else died *almost* in front of my house. On our strip certainly.

Actually gonna mark this 1 mature, but it's not actually "violence" per se, but a car accident.

I'm both way too used to this & was actually spooked to take that route home tonight, though I was on the advantageous side.

But I was tired (not *sleepy* but wanted to lie down already after a brain-frying day), so I did not go the long way to avoid it.

Actually probably not, cuz the T-boned car that had crossed over (at fault), was melded into the F-150 truck's front end.

(My dad had been confused at first cuz it looked like only one vehicle, so why did they close the whole highway? ...OH.)

So they were both going so fast, right at each other. (The truck was where it was supposed to be at least.) But that means probably neither was braking.

& we hate to say it, but at least the one who died was the one at fault. Still... Sucks. 😓
