quentin and belly in a dressing room
stupid belly missed q’s performance and he feels some type of way about it
tw: coke
quentin: Quentin was still reeling from the drugs he had taken before showing up, and with the added weed and make out session from Melody he was feeling pretty good. Wandering around the high school just looking for something to keep his mind occupied. “What the fuck?” he huffed as he plopped down behind the overly expensive teachers desk in the dressing room. “Teachers are so fuckin bougie these days.” He kicked his feet up onto the desk to get more comfortable but nearly jumped out of his skin when he noticed the other person in the room. “Shit! How long were you standing there?” he asked with a laugh
belly: belly burst into the dressing room with a crash. she was sloppy, but when wasn't she? hair frizzy, her lips a little swollen, and her eyes dark and button like from the excessive blow she had done after leaving the classroom with liam, belly was higher than a kite on a summer day at the beach. higher than the clouds, higher than the stars. the room was empty so she found a spot against the wall, stretching out her legs and setting up a line on the skin of her thigh. just as she bent down to take it, quentin moved through the space of the dressing room and made himself at home. brunette tossed hair, porcelain features - he was a god that always surprised her. belly stood, sniffing up the powder and wiggling it through her sinuses. "like two seconds. hi, q, what's up?"
quentin: His eyes narrowed in on her dark features and a smile appeared across his lips. He was wondering if and when he was gonna run into her. She was basically the only reason he was sticking around so long, he wanted to see her. “Hey there beautiful” he chuckled, still shaking off the nerves of being startled by her. “Oh you know.. the usual” he grinned, leaning forward against the desk as he brought his feet down. “Did you catch my performance? I played a song specifically for you.”
belly: the word beautiful rolled off his tongue like melted ice cream, chilling her to the bone and making her hair stand on the back of her neck. "you good? you look like you've seen a ghost." and maybe he had. maybe she was ghost belly. maybe she looked that bad that he really was frightened and he was just trying to be nice. quentin was always so irrationally sweet to her. "the usual? getting laid and takin' names? that's my boy!" belly hopped up on the desk, the scene very reminiscent of the masquerade ball. so much so that she felt a bit of de ja vu hitting her brain. but then she felt guilt, realizing that she had missed out on his song. "i - i uh, missed it. im a fuckin' idiot and i missed it." her eyes cast down to her lap, feeling like shit. still high though, nothing was going to stop that feeling for a hot minute. extra blow still on her thigh, her fingers brushed it off, pissed at herself. "im sorry, q."
quentin: “Oh yeah, I’m good. Definitely better now that you’re here and not some random masked serial killer” he teased. His eyes followed her as she moved closer to him, hopping up onto the desk. She was beautiful, no amount of blow, or drugs of any kind could change that. His eyes were glued to her, just as his smile was glued to his lips. “Mm, yeah I guess. Something like that” he shrugged, a more smug look gracing his features as he leaned back into the chair. Was that what she was doing? Getting laid while he sang his heart out for her? “You missed it huh? I guess you had more important things to do? No I get it.. don’t even sweat it. Sorry’s are a bit meaningless.” He crossed his arms over his chest as he rocked back and forth in his chair. His eyes drifting to her thigh where she brushed off the remaining coke left upon her skin before lifting back to her face.
belly: "i heard about that. found adie in the bathroom covered in blood, actually." whatever happened with that? she hadn't heard any more talk about someone getting killed or even seen adie around in weeks. of course quentin was with other girls, she wasn't stupid to that. she was just another name on his list and belly was okay with it, as long as they kept coming back to each other eventually. they were magnets, either connecting or unable to meet when they were flipped to the negative side. seemed like tonight would be the latter. belly winced a little. "i didn't know you were on and i-" there weren't any excuses, she was out there getting high and getting laid. somewhere in her brain she was confused why that wasn't okay considering thats what quentin did too. obviously she hadn't thought about it enough. finally, belly looked over her shoulder at him. "i've never fucked up when it came to you and i didn't know you were gonna be up there, q. i can't read minds which i know, like, damn, wish i could."
quentin: “Yeah, I missed the whole thing unfortunately” he chuckled lightly shaking his head. He didn’t know Ritchie or Adie at the time and to be quite honest, he had his own issues going on that night. Not that they trumped someone getting stabbed to death. He was just in his own head space and heard nothing of it until days after. None of that mattered right now anyway as his jealousy took over. He wasn’t really sure why he was feeling jealous, but he was. He liked her, and the thought of her being with anyone but him sickened him. “Like I said, don’t sweat it. It wasn’t anything extravagant, and it’s not like you can’t find it on YouTube later.” His tone was a bit bitter but still soft as he looked right past her. He didn’t want her to see the jealousy in him, but it was almost to evident to hide. “I guess I shouldn’t have expected you to be available, it’s cool. Really.”
belly: they had been together at the masquerade. they had done blow with each other off a desk a lot like this one. she had held him in his time of need. he was hurting and she had asked about that afterwards but it wasn't like quentin to reveal his struggles to her. much like it wasn't like belly to think further than the present. with everyone she ever got starry eyed for leaving her in the dust or fucking her friends or using her to get back at someone, it was hard to understand that someone could genuinely wish and hope that she was paying attention too. was she even capable of that? belly didn't know. this was a new side of quentin that she hadn't seen. he hadn never been hers, why was he acting like she had just done him dirty on purpose? "c'mon quentin, don't play like that. you know if i woulda at least gotten a text i woulda been out there cheering you on. just like that time at the club i saw you at." he wasn't even looking at her now. great. back down in her lap, eyes focused on the hang nail she was picking at, almost bleeding trying to get it off. "so what, if apologies are meaningless, what can i do?"
quentin: He hated this feeling, the feeling of jealousy. like she was his when she clearly wasn’t, and quite possibly didn’t want to be. It wasn’t like he wasn’t with other people as well, so why did it matter? He took a deep breath in and cleared his throat, trying to get out of his current head space. The thoughts of her fucking someone else why he was trying g to do something genuine circling his mind. Fuck, what did she do to him? He brought his eyes back to her, watch her as she picked at the skin on her finger. “Stop that” he nearly demanded. Placing his hand over hers as he looked up at her face. “You can’t do anything, it is what it is. I mean, it’s not like you’re my girlfriend or whatever. It’s fine, really.” His tone just barely masked his disappointment now, but the jealousy was still clear in his eyes as he looked at her. “I just really wanted you to be there. I should have texted.”
belly: eyes cast back up as soon as he told her to stop, belly like a deer in headlights. his hand rested on hers and she was melting again with no time to be frustrated with the situation. belly really took quentin in with what felt like a soft expression but she knew it probably didn't look like such. in her high things usually felt different than how they appeared. but then it was hard for her not to wince at his words. of course she wasn't his girlfriend. she was no one's. she met his eyes, sinking into them like a hot bubbly spa. "and i should have been there. what did you play?"
quentin: Why did it seem like the only expression he could ever read in other people was the one they gave when they wanted to fuck? He knew that expression like the back of his hand, but this one, the one Belly was giving him, left him confused. What was she thinking? His hand tightened softly over hers giving it a squeeze as he kept his eyes locked on hers. He could have swore his heart was going to beat out of his chest, or maybe he would just flip gears and beat the shit out of something or someone. He needed a release, but it wasn’t anywhere in sight. “Let’s go Crazy.. Prince” he replied. His eyes now dropping to their hands as he tried to pretend like the situation didn’t bother him. Still it was just as evident as the light in the room. “I should probably get out of here now. I don’t really have any reason to stick around, and I could really use a change of perspective.” He looked back up at her as if it were the last time he’d ever see her, and he licked his lips before rubbing them together. “And for what it’s worth, apologies aren’t meaningless. The word sorry is, especially when you were exactly where you wanted to be.”
