Just got back another wonderful art piece of Reaper that I commissioned from @retrofightingrobot! This is of X-era Reaper, also known as Grim.
Was inspired by @dunedragon's post to draw Reaper.exe Beast-out form.
She already floats, so Falzar was the obvious option, but I ended up drawing wings based on the death's-head hawkmoth. Most of my drawing time was spend on her claws, but I feel like I could keep working on those forever.
Also edited her default floating sprite a bit. I think I like this shading better.
Reaper as drawn for the Undertale memory :D
Reaper go brrr
So the coolest package/commission just arrived from @comicalcarnival and I absolutely love it.
Behold: Reaper, now available as a marketable plushie.
She's just such a well-made tsum/capcoron, and I couldn't be happier.
So the Berserk B.I.T.S demo beta is out for Discord members now, right on time for me to finish this Reaper's complete sprite set (roughly 140 sprites!).
This was such a fun challenge, but man was it a challenge. There's example sprites available, but I tried to do my own thing as much as possible (I'm really happy with the teleport) but that just made things harder XD
Also got to expand on one of the mugshots I'd already made. I will admit I got a bit lazy with the diagonal movement sprites, but it looks fine in-game ;)
It's genuinely amazing to see her in motion.
First finished sprite of the year :D Still just a tad unsure about her hair, but I'm otherwise pretty happy!
Putting these together again, including a comparison of the color counts on the standing sprites. Megaman.exe and Roll both use 14 colors in theirs, while my first attempt used 38. The current sprite uses 19, which I'm happy enough with :D
I also updated the rotating sprite. Still not entirely happy with it, but that's just a matter of practicing more.
...Wait what do you mean she still needs MMBN-style walk/running sprites?? And I haven't finished the scythe throw yet???
