Here is the story of Forget Me Not
Last year, as you know, I was lucky enough to open for the wonderful Charlene Kaye in London. At the time I had nothing but an old demo recorded - I hadn't even performed or written a new song in months. So that summer became a musical rebirth of sorts for me. Something changed. I still don't know what, though I have to give Charlene the credit for the opportunity that made me sit up and reconnect with my singing. Suddenly I had a million songs trying to get out of my head and I started looking into how I could get an EP out there on my basically non-existent budget...
I played for you all and said yeah, I'll have an EP out by Christmas! And then I got distracted by gigging around London and writing more songs and going to LA and playing a gig there (did that happen? really?) and then it was Christmas and I... did not have an EP out in time.
Then I met OIiver Kadel, who is a genius, and Paul Satchell who is a million times better at guitar than I will ever be, and the plan started to come together.
Forget Me Not is an acoustic EP. It's very simple, and very raw, and maybe a little imperfect in some places - and that's exactly how I want it. Because that's how I am, and that's how this whole thing started. Nothing about this journey so far has been planned or polished or perfect, and it means all the more for it.
And it fits, really. Because this is a collection of songs about love that isn’t what love should be. It’s unrequited, or lost, or impossible, or too far away, and I hope there’s something in there somewhere that you can relate to. I hope it makes you smile, or remember, or hope.
One of these songs was written last summer in a fit of hopelessness. One has been with me in some form since I first found my favourite place. One was born when I fell in love with a story I heard. One just came to me in the winter and said I’m here when I wasn’t expecting it.
But they are all so real to me.
So… enjoy…
Tomorrow.

I'm holding my EP Forget Me Not in my hand. I think I'll release it TOMORROW

all my love to you and her, honey. you look like her!
thanks ♥ and people always said that! they never said I looked like my mum or dad, it was always aboo or my dad's mum when she was young.

what yoga do you do? x
I got a DVD from amazon, and it's been really good for me. I think the last time I attempted Yoga I was, like, 17 and drunk, so this has been a good start for me.
