Hearing the crunch of his teeth clench and grit from the sheer force of the blow, thousands of years worth of rage and grief piled into one strike - something that wouldn’t have happened under normal circumstances, circumstances where Sandalphon was nothing more than the empty vessel he was meant to be - made Lucilius sneer, a chuckle rumbling in his throat.

A hand rose to his jaw, the cool, metal-like material fused to his limbs providing much-needed relief to the afflicted area, his thumb rubbing pale skin in idle thought. What a surprise, really, that he’d have the gall to do such a deed.

She doesn’t mean for the expression to come to fruition in the face of other, this tired forlorn look that took a hold of her for as long as it had. There was a reputation that was to be upheld and she knows it well.

Katalina Aryze was a knight, unflappable, unbreakable, every much a protector of the very azure horizon. A title that much like the rest of the crew, bequeath to her by the countless population of the sky. Her kindness, her selflessness knew no bounds, her will bowed to no man she deemed unworthy. The perfect example for budding knights, the perfect war goddess to seasoned veterans, all of it culminated into an alluring visage.

More knight than human, the pinnacle of knighthood.

But oh, she was human. Painfully so, she was every bit human.

For a moment the temptation is lie is a great one. To slip back on her helm and brush her aside regret as nothing more than a result of excess training. Yet the moment she finds the supreme primarch’s gaze had followed her own. When another pair of crimson eyes trained on the her once junior, the Lord of Albion….

It was her fault, her selfishness that caused that.

Her actions resulted the woman becoming a being that would see her die long before she ever sprouted a silvery lock. Where Lyria and Gran could take her excuses in full stride, he wouldn’t.Sandalphon would be swift to call out her lies were she to pretend that this never happened.

“Indeed. We wouldn’t realise our actions if they were it without the consequence.” Cowardly as she was in admitting her past, of confronting it in words, Katalina turns her gaze to him. Not to lecture him, but to show her understanding.

He deserved at least that much from her.

“It is only then, we you face the full weight of our sins that you can learn that what you believe in….. was wrong.”

That what I did, was wrong.
