Can you explain what's going on in your D&D art? I am intrigued!

sure! i’m gonna keep it as short as possible, because there is so much to blayk and how he came to be holy heck

within our dnd campaign, we’re a nation that used to consist of 6 elemental terrains that merged into one big country (fire, earth, water, air, light, dark)! each one of our party members hail from one of these ‘elements’, and were called upon by the king to collect 6 artifacts from elemental temples to help fend off an enemy nation that is attempting a conquest and succeeding. he chose us because it turned out we all descended from royalty. but that’s another story!

in the d&d art, it’s the light trial for our bard (the white haired person on the bottom)! we were on our way to the ‘light temple’, but were sidetracked to crash his arch nemesis’ party, Blayk, who’s pretty much the biggest show off in the world. it turned out he had the light artifact around his neck all along :’D

he also tried to tar and feather us but i am not kidding when i say 3 of us rolled natural 20s and the rest got 15+ so we all dodged it LMAO

Favourite: scary moment in any media, Pokémon, Game Grumps episode

Ooooooooooh, all good ones!

Scary Moment:

That’s the most loaded one of the lot cuz there’s a lot of scurry moments I love from a wide variety of movies and games and such (from source material that isn’t always meant to be scary, haha). I always say the first thirty minutes of ‘Secret of NIMH’ is the creepiest part of the movie (and the source of many a nightmare o mine for over twenty years now) and that’s actually part of why I love the movie so much (cuz there was a decent balance of scary with levity and such). 

My favorite type of horror is the slow build tho, so a lot of my favorite moments come from more suspenseful scenes of quiet like a number of scenes in the original ‘Omen’ (that scene where the Rottie is coming down the stairs as the main character comes home, brrrr), or the bit in Killer Croc’s lair in ‘Arkham Asylum’ so any number of scenes like that are super effective for me (FNaF is probably the king of most terrifying vidja game experiences for me still).

If I had to pick one though it’d probably be everything during the climax of ‘Wait Until Dark’ and especially that literal jump scare bit near the end. Not even ashamed to admit it got me good the first time I saw it (and that entire movie is still just as effective for me, damn good, one of the best).

Pokémon:

There’s like a good, what, 1000 by now? So me only playing up to a point in ‘Red’ and still not making it very far in ‘Sun & Moon’ (the fuck is wrong with me, now that Zelda’s done I should get back into that) doesn’t give me a whole lot of options besides the generic ones or the ones I know from the show. But! There was the time in ‘Red’ when I found an Eevee and I had this whole crisis about what to name him since I had to figure out what I wanted to evolve him as later, and I eventually decided fire and settled on Keegan for a name. That was the most intricate I’ve gotten with the naming of my Pokes so far so I have a special bond with Flareon I spose. 

Grumpisode:

Aw man, that’s the loadiest of all the loaded questions. So many great ones, so many great playthroughs. The ones I come back to every so often are the ones everybody does; Mickey Mousecapade, Dennis the Menace, either Endless Ocean, The Amazing Frog?, Teletubbies, and most recently the Mad Dog McCree episodes I’ll happily go back and watch. The episode of ‘Wind Waker’ where Dan bares one of the most personal moments of his life also helped me a lot last year so I gotta give a shout out to that. Too much goodness.

Fandom thing: ASoUE

The first character I first fell in love with: I think in the case of the movie, the books and the show as a collective it was Uncle Monty. He’s just the best guardian the kids ever had cuz he treated them with genuine respect and catered to their interests and was warm and loving and both adaptations have made me even sadder what happens to him (the show even more, Goddamn he was freaking precious on the show).

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Count Olaf didn’t get a whole lot of characterization apart from wanting money and being terrible at disguises but the later books kind of fleshed out the whole issue of morality and junk and they shed some sympathy on him while still making him absolutely a terrible person that made me appreciate him more and mirror the weird “I don’t know what to think” feeling the Baudelaires have towards him in the end (bum bum tish). NPH in the show definitely increased my love too, especially where the last episode shows him just as miserable as the kids or Snicket and that is an important part of his character so I appreciated that.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: I don’t really know much about the fandom thoughts on characters as a whole, plus I’m easy so I dunno.

The character I love that everyone else hates: Hmmmm… again, don’t really have a clear idea what the fandom thinks on that. Maybe Aunt Josephine since she’s a bloody coward but I dunno how much the fandom holds that against her (and the show gave her some last minute balls that was nice).

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: *Shrugs*

The character I would totally smooch: Shirley… Kit Snicket maybe but she’s happily married…………………………….yeah………

The character I’d want to be like: All the Baudelaire children to an extent. Violet’s got great McGuyver skills and is fast on her feet with them, Klaus’s memory of actual important facts concerning books (I have a pretty good memory for that stuff too, just not for stuff that could save me if I were in any of their situations), Sunny’s razor sharp teeth that can fend off evil optometrists (gawd, such a shame that wasn’t in the show, haha) and her eventual prowess at cooking, they’re all really resourceful. Wish I was half that resourceful at their ages.

The character I’d slap: Most of the guardians/adults for not believing the kids when they have absolutely no reason to lie about Count Olaf lurking around, but especially Mr. Poe. Good intentions and being a reliable adult and caretaker doesn’t mean squat when you’re this incompetent and oblivious.

A pairing that I love: Violet and Klaus get eventual crushes/kinda relationships with other kids their age that’s cute. Of course they both end badly but, what do you expect? And to cheat a bit there’s two teens in ‘All the Wrong Questions’, Cleo and Jake, who are so cute cuz they call each other sweethearts and it’s such an oldie term but it immediately made me go “aaaw” when one of them said that. I’m a sap.

A pairing that I despise: I guess… Olaf and Violet cuz… no.

1. 6 of the songs you listen to most?

“Video Killed the Radio Star” by The Buggles is a song I will never skip so that’s probably the most. “Majestic” or “The Doctor Will See You Now” by Wax Fang, “God’s Away on Business” by Tom Waits, “Land Down Under” by Men at Work, aaaand I dunno “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay. There’s a lot of songs I listen to constantly.

16. Simple but extremely complex. Favorite band?

Hmmmmmm... couldn’t say, haha. I love Queen, I love all those classic rock, 80s pop bands, I love those kinda name based bands like Tom Waits (who obviously can’t/doesn’t do everything in his songs), but it’s hard to pick out a favorite I guess because I’m not the most critical with music. If I like it I listen to it, I don’t require much other than that.

23. How do you vent your anger?

I scream.... I mean, I don’t get angry most of the time and when I do it’s because of a video game most likely so if I’m home alone or people aren’t gonna hear me I curse up a storm (ie yesterday while I was playing the Smough and Ornstein fight in Dark Souls) but if I’m angry about other stuff such as politics (which has been constant of late) or stuff at work, I’ll keep it to myself or talk about it to someone I know won’t jump down my throat for it. Having a girlfriend (you!) is also a nice source of no judging venting.

10. Dream Casting for TAZ the HBO Original Series

Now that is a loaded question. You have to take into account the problems with races that the people making the comics encountered as well as every fan artist does as well. I’d be down for a diverse cast, for sure, but you’re bound to upset somebody over it. My only surefire casting might be Christopher Lloyd as Merle, haha.
