A very talented friend made script that will help you reblog from OP directly. Doesn't solve all the problems, but makes it easier to find the original post.

Adds a "↺ OP" button that opens the original poster's tumblr post.

The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. That's why we'll wreck the shit out of it so we can be closer to becoming just like anywhere else

@staff @tumblr @changes Every time you guys make a change to this site, there's a pretty big outcry. There's dozens of people complaining, saying how much they hate it. But this new change really takes the cake. Most of my dashboard is just people talking about how this literally ruins tumblr. Not only does this update destroy the collaborative nature of the site by not allowing the original poster of something to even see half the additions people make, it makes bullying significantly easier. The harassment on this site is already rampant, but you've now made it possible for people to relentlessly bully someone in the notes of a post, and the OP won't even see it because it's not on "their" post. This is not just us complaining for a little while before we get used to the change and move on. This is us saying we will stop using this site if the change isn't rolled back. It's been in effect for not even a full day at this point and I've already stopped opening tumblr whenever I'm bored. There have been things in the past that have driven people away from this site. This will drive everyone away.

How do you feel about staff's intent to remove reblog chains, considering your blog's basically an amalgamation of reblog chain long posts?

haha I’m actually legitimately terrified and trying really hard to not think about it :)

(seriously like i don’t wanna make a thing of it, but i’ve gone down the posts about it and like wtfff?!? why why why?!?? like I get their reasoning for it but it’s not accurate to the actual users of tumblr?? i’d rather scroll though 20 long posts than use the examples of what this would look like that I saw. but if this is wrong let me know…. but yeahhh i’m scared.)
