Finally, it seemed as if what he was saying about transparency seemed to be getting through. A peace talk was a step in the right direction, but where Tony hesitated was when he got checked for weapons at the door. A bunch of unarmed, enhanced people when the Syndicate was still at large was a recipe for disaster, but he couldn’t exactly argue with it, not when the Accords finally seemed to be going the right direction.
“Glad to see you here,” he said to the person who appeared beside him. He lifted another glass off the passing waiter’s tray and offered it to them. “You might need this once the talks get started.”
