This is basically what I was going to do with the xfficrec- that post that people signed up for. I’m not going to do that anymore. Right now I won’t have the time or space to run an organised thing that requires other people. If you like the idea, feel free to take it and run with it. Nothing against anyone who signed up, I’m really glad you did but it’s not realistic at this moment in time.
That being said I am going to do a similar thing but I’m going to do it solo without having to worry about slacking. I don’t know if that makes sense but basically, this is just going to be my own thing done on my own blog all by myself. It’s a weekly thing- every Sunday I’m going to rec somebody. I’m still going to focus on the lesser known authors and try to give them a boost, help them out a bit. I’ll rec anyone if I like their writing but I’m going to focus mainly on those I feel are overlooked or are new and are struggling to get up and going. This is all my opinion, I don’t mean to exclude or upset people, there are loads of recommendation posts/blogs going around right now, it’s really not the end of the world if you don’t make it onto these posts.
As the title says, it’s both a fic rec and an author rec. The focus really is on the author but I’ll try to give you a fic that I like by them- that’s going to be the structure.
Disclaimer: I can’t guarantee that this will help but I hope it will put a smile on your face regardless. Also, these paragraphs won’t be at the beginning of every post. And yes, I am going to focus on the figures (the amount of notes, the amount of kudos’) because no, they don’t dictate your worth or your fic’s worth, but seeing low numbers makes you feel like crap and is the driving force for many people. I can’t speak to the people I rec directly regarding that but I’m sure it must take some toll on them.

A snowstorm, a bath and a bed (I totally should have called this Bed, Bath and Beyond - but I feel that would have required more alien puns, and I don't think I am capable of alien puns at the moment. Also, it would require some humour. This has no humour. Just...a bath). What more could you want?
This person is so underrated. When I reblogged this fic, particularly, the number of notes they received was so low. This fic alone is 4k words long- that’s a lot of time spent- and not only that but it’s so good. They don’t have that many fics written and they’re not that long, if you’re a fast enough reader you could get through all of them pretty quickly. Seriously, go show this person some support. They’re really good and I don’t want to lose them due to feeling unnoticed.
