Recipe 1 - Snow White's Gooseberry Pie
Snow White's Gooseberry Pie is inspired by the pie(s) that Snow White bakes for the dwarfs in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In the movie we see her make one for Grumpy, spelling his name in the dough. I'm assuming she made the other 6 pies off screen.
This pie was nice and tart and reminded me of a cherry pie. It definitely tasted better on day two when it had time to solidify in the fridge. As with most pies, it's definitely recommended you eat it with vanilla ice cream! Recipe below the cut:

Recipe 1 principles: Six groups contradict 2021 F1 guidelines proposition
Most of groups restrict the new specialized guidelines for 2021 being proposed by Formula 1, BBC Sport can uncover.
Six of the 10 groups demonstrated in a poll composed by Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull that they don’t concur with the plans as they stand.
Just Alfa Romeo, McLaren, Renault and Williams favored the proposed new principles to the current ones.

Recipe #1: Bouchet
Summary
Essentially, caramelized honey mead. At the end of the cooking process, the honey should look like toffee, or appropriately, caramels. The smell is described as smelling like cotton candy.
Ingredients
1.5 pints of honey
1.4 gallons of water
fresh ginger, 1.0oz
cloves, 0.5oz
long pepper, 1.0oz
grains of paradise, 1.0oz
mesh bag
Dry ale yeast
Steps
Pour one gallon of water into a 3-5 gallon pot. Make a mental note of the one gallon line, as that is the line to which your honey will be reduced via boiling. Pour out the water.
Pour the honey into the pot over medium-high heat. Stir constantly. Honey should froth up 2/3 times its original volume as the heat increases. Keep stirring until the honey caramelizes. Turn the heat off before the honey burns.
Slowly add the 1.4 gallons of water and boil the honey-water mixture down to the previously marked 1 gallon mark
Allow the now reduced mixture to cool to room temperature.
Pitch yeast (NOTE: THE MIXTURE MUST BE BETWEEN 15-30C OR YOU RUN THE RISK OF KILLING OFF YOUR YEAST) and cap with water-lock
After fermentation is complete (i.e. no bubbles in water-lock), rack to a secondary fermentation vessel. Place all spices in a mesh bag and soak in the secondary vessel for 1-2 days before removing
(OPTIONAL) Create sparkling mead by calculating priming sugar and carbonating in the bottles. Make sure you have champagne bottles for this, as bottles CAN and WILL EXPLODE.

FLAME ROASTED TOAST! Me and Sora decided to start off with something very easy. The bread we used was a simple baguette bought at our local grocery store. We started off by warming some butter up into a pan and then browned both sides. We have yet to invest in some pretty plates, so for now the dishes you see will be cheapy ones. End result, delicious.
Recipe 1 | Croque Monsieur | 9.3.2015 This is the meal that Meryl (praise) served Steve Martin's character in It's Complicated. This meal, however, is not. Complicated, that is. There are so many different versions, but the difference between a croque monsieur and a croque madame is a fried egg on top. Perfect for a late dinner or for looking like you have your sh** together on a budget. Because everyone knows slapping a French name on something makes it sounds fancy. Ingredients: Bread Tomato Ham Choice of cheese Mayonnaise Directions: Preheat the oven to 350. Take a thick slice of bread and put mayonnaise on one side. Top with ham, fresh tomatoes, and cheese. Bake until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasty.
Recipe #1
Before you start anything, wash your hands. You carry germs around all day and you don't want that being baked into your food.
To begin:
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Cut up the strawberries, put them in a bowl and mix in the sugar. Cover this and put it in the refrigerator until you are ready.
Mix together the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. Take the butter (it needs to be cold) and use a fork to cut it into the mixture. It should form fine crumbs. (It will take some time of cutting in the butter to make this successful).
In a smaller bowl, remove the yolk from the eggs and beat them, add the milk.
This next part is where I use some rule of thumb. I am making a smaller version of this recipe because my roommates are both gone for the week, I zested one medium lemon and added it to the milk/yolk mixture. To do this, you use a smaller end of a grater-- or a lemon zester.
Add the lemon peel to the egg and milk mixture.
Add this mixture to the flour mixture-- this is where I deviate from the recipe-- but I like getting my hands dirty. I use my hands to mix the dough together until it forms a stiff ball (it's kind of sticky as well). If you find yourself mixing for a while and not achieving the texture you want add a little milk. Continue to do this until the mixture is at the desired texture.
Once you have that all settled, split the dough ball in half. Roll the halves into balls and place far apart on a non greased baking sheet.
Bake them in the oven for 8-10 minutes or until they are lightly browned.
While the dough bakes in the oven pour the heavy whipping cream into your mixing bowl (in the formal recipe I include what to do if you don't have an electric mixer, I fortunately have a KitchenAid). Let the cream thicken and then slowly add sugar until peaks form. It will be the consistency of... well... whipped cream.
Once the shortbread is done cooking remove it from the oven and let it sit for 15 minutes. I don't have a wire rack and I'm not that fancy yet so I just let it chill on the baking sheet.
(In the meantime I chop up the lemon I mutilated)
(& clean the mess I've made so my roommates don't kill me should they ever decide to return home)
Once your shortbread is cooled cut them in half and layer the strawberry mixture and whipped cream however you would like.
Tada! Now, eat and enjoy :)
Thanks for reading!
Happy cooking :)
