childish reckless desires like running with scissors down the hall with you in pursuit taking your socks off for better grip so you don't slip and fall and die or falling asleep with gum in your mouth when your mother told you not to choke or worse it would wind up in your hair and you'd have to chop it all off you don't care

my shy reckless desire is silence achieved in satisfactory quiet your faux haberdashery crafted in the crannies of your bedroom where your pets spend too much time easy to access and easy to leave drafts of apologies erased from notebooks and diaries i absent mindedly eyed while waiting for you to come back to reality after crying for the second time that night

reckless desire that leaves you helpless stranded on a subway sans a map or driving home drunk while suicide tickles you pink with her alluring promises that somehow in ways she won't explain nothing is better than this and maybe she's right but sadly i slink back to a dignity-less life over nothing to our car rides home where you left over nothing your outline of dark hair and plaid skirt on the outskirts of my vision i am over nothing now that you're chirping about returning home
