I continually underestimate how much work is involved with describing the presence of magic interfacing with conventional genetics. I may have to re-write or break some laws of molecular stability. Which I am quite willing to do, but given that no character in this world is going, or needs, to understand any of that sort of thing, I am given to question why I'm going to such effort in the first place.
The answer, of course, is that I was the sort of DM who mapped rainfall averages and worried about geological consistency when world-crafting, and I haven't changed much.
