Reconstructed events
An explanation for my reconstructed event tag: This tag is for special cases of unused animation which were labeled for an in-game event, but no camera file was created for it. With guesswork, matching up unused audio, and model swapping, I’ve provided gifs on how they would have looked in-game.
Check behind the cut for additional notes.
Chapter: Sir Peter
“A-are you alright?” : Unused animation of Clara sitting on that unused stool in Wendy’s sickroom and comforting her. When I first heard Clara’s unused audio, I thought it was for Jennifer, but lolnope. This game is very consistent. I was able to figure out it was for that stool thanks to the height of Clara’s sit animation. Even the bed moves when she leans on it. (I don’t think I 100% lined it up there, oops.)
“Eeek!” : There’s audio of Clara making a little shriek and I think this animation of her cringing lines up with that. My guess is that this is what would have happened if you showed Clara the corpse of Peter the rabbit.
Chapter: The Gingerbread House
Locked door : Animation of Greg shooing you away and closing a weird-looking door with two key locks. I think this was meant to be used in his house like those other events where kids would scare Jennifer away from rooms that aren’t meant to be used yet.
Chapter: The Bird of Happiness
Picking up a dead bird : Just an in-game version of the end of this chapter where Jennifer reaches into the box to unwrap the bloody cloth, except they didn’t animate that, just Jennifer.
Chapter: The Goat Sisters
“Oh my, what have they done to you? Jennifer, poor Jennifer…” : A very interesting, long animation that I think was meant originally as the chapter intro. Jennifer is pushed down some long steps by Joshua (I think it’s outside Meg’s invention room), and Wendy spots her at the bottom. Her mouth syncs PERFECTLY with the unused audio (see her audio vid) and then she hugs a frightened Jennifer. Jennifer eventually pushes her off and she slowly gets up and walks up the stairs as Jennifer watches after her. My guess is that this was removed because having Wendy hanging out with the onion bag just gave too much away.
“Baaah!” : This is technically an unused event since there’s camera work for it (but idk how to successfully call them). It’s a black goat that’s tied up and disemboweled. It has a few animations: eye moving, bleating, struggling, etc. The rope is rectangular so I think it was supposed to be tied to one of the large posts, but I can only guess which one. What is curious is that it’s assigned to this attic room since you can’t get to it in this chapter. It also has a white goat variant but that has no animation. Maybe it was removed for being too gruesome.
Chapter: Mermaid Princess
“Lazy brat! Why can’t you be more like Diana?” : Multiple animations of Mr. Hoffman tapping his fingers, waving you off, and watching Diana as she has 3-4 animations of rag scrubbing a fish tank. I figured out it was this specific room and tank thanks to his hand height. This was probably meant as the original chapter opening.
Kissing air : I think this was unused animation for that peephole before the Mermaid boss fight. It would explain the weird screen darkness you see after the cs, but this animation isn’t assigned in the game script.
Chapter: Rag Princess Sews
*crying* : Unused animation of an elevator going up (not pictured since I’ve yet to figure out how to animate 3 things at once) with a crying Joshua who is being comforted by Gregory holding a lantern. There is unused audio of Joshua crying that could connect to this. Due to how long the chapter is, I can only guess when and what elevator is used. Maybe it was replaced with Amanda holding the Jennifer doll.
To do:
Meg (?) and Susan running and dodging past things
Jennifer picks up a damaged Joshua the Bear and a gun falls out of it. No wonder Wendy was so upset when it went missing.
Wendy is walking around and feeding her pet rabbit, also has a fainting animation that might be new.
Susan (?) dropping/cleaning a plate (can’t remember)
Gregory ripping a door open.
Brown barks and knocks over a large plank. I can only guess where it’s meant to be used.
Peeking Eleanor.
Jennifer pushing a chest.
