so, fun fact, this song is actually from the perspective of a scorned incel who wants to kill the girl who rejected him. i sure did not take that from it until i read it stated explicitly....! it would take too much to explain the details of why i interpreted it as such but i actually had taken it as a conversation with a personification of death, who was the "she" referred to. certainly could tell it was about unrequited feelings, i just read it in a way more tragic and sympathetic light. ah the subjectivity of art.

MM@TA is a band i managed to find totally organically this year and fell in love with, which is always fun. obviously a lot of value in recommendations from friends but it's nice to get totally surprised with something. i also saw them live at St. Pete pride this year!

Ok so I totally get your message that they're supposed to keep up with what he does and it's good! They should! Be watchdogs! But I was listening to a politics podcast (Pod Save America) yesterday where they had a former CNN reporter that spoke about how often it was about the headlines that grabbed the best viewership. It's all about getting the most sensationalized headline and it's all about getting it before fox and before CNN and before MSNBC.

So absolutely they should keep interviewing people from the White House staff and break stories about Russian interference in US politics, but not at the expense of keeping those as "breaking news" scrolls and replaying the same 3 sound clips of him for the next 18-24 hours until the next "breaking news" story. It's also about finding stories that allow for a connection with the constituencies that allow them to make educated decisions about their policy makers, and in depth reports about demolishing the EPA and the depth of Trump's staff and I think I've begun to go in circles ok anyway the 24 hour news cycle would be so much more efficient if it used it to report on more things ty for listening

In my experience, the thing is... you don’t wanna give him free publicity, but you also can’t overlook what he does. You can’t choose what’s relevant and what isn’t for the viewers. You have to pick everything that is news and hope the viewers will be able to learn from it to make well informed decisions. 

The media is not reporting 24/7 on Trump because he “makes them more popular”. He’s the president of the USA. He’s a public figure. His decisions have a strong lasting effect in the global population. To lower your covering on him based on ‘not wanting to make him important’ would be neglectful and borderline dangerious. 

What the world, and journalism, need right now, though, is maybe less ‘shocking’ headlines and more in depth investigations that will have a more lasting effect in society.

Look. Your characterization is So Good. Like in everything I read it's not forced and it flows well both with the actions and the dialogue from the characters and when I try to picture the characters themselves saying it, it's completely believable, whereas with some fic writers that's really difficult to find. So thank you for your talents and congratulations on them too.
