Back in NYC for the first time since February 2020! Visited a studio for work, then went to see if some of my favorite haunts were still around (Spoiler: Yes!). Record Runner is the city’s best New Wave specialist record shop, while Music Inn is renowned for its atmosphere (as seen on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), and Westsider is, eh, ok but the only game on the UWS. Also seen—the John Lennon Tree and the brand-new Moynihan Station! I was thrilled to see that all those shops made it through the pandemic and are still slinging great vinyl.

The Flower Children - Mini-Skirt Blues (60's Garage Punk from Los Angeles, CA)

The girls at this #60s record store asked if they could wear Mini-Skirts to work. Management agreed but if it caused any issues they would have to go back to the old way. Little did they know record sales would soar to an all time high. The #miniskirts remained appropiate dress for the job. #sixties

Loving Tori Amos Little Earthquakes on coke bottle clear vinyl and Under the Pink on pink. Bought in record shops and not on-line because if you love record shops like me, then please use them. Now if I only knew how to rotate the images properly on Tumblr.

here’s a recent find from the ever dependable local record shop - pacific records a stonking name & gloriously frothy label design definitely go someway in setting the scene here. let the bass kick!
