Pomegranate Red Beech (#f43d3d to #7e2800)
Blood beech - Simon Bang , 2019.
Danish, b. 1960 -
Acrylic on panel, 62 x 62 cm.
Large beech tree on Queen Emma square, seen on a virtual guided tour along remarkable and colorful trees in Rotterdam, The Netherlands in the autumn of 2021
This beech tree is remarkable. It’s completely blown over, but still alive. I saw it last year and of course I didn’t know if this had just happened or not. No matter what, it survived what nature threw at it. I hope it’ll not be removed per command of the municipality, but I don’t see why they would do that because it would cost money and it isn’t bothering anyone.
