Is limiting space technology sharing to only countries with the same red policies really a good idea? It might be better for reds if the whole planet can go all in on space travel. And what if another country develops the tech independently and creates an anti-red space coalition? I was hoping we could leave this kind of thing behind us.
Obviously, it’s good that Miolee exists as a place for reds to live that is relatively safe for them.
And, surprise, I think I tentatively endorse the weird caste abolition experiment. It’s not going to be good for the Mioleen, but if they want to try it, this is an appropriate opportunity to do so. It’s a small country made up of immigrants who understand what they’re getting into, unbuoyed by incidental wealth or positive international relations. I sympathize with those who are going to be hurt by it, (it’s not like they had the choice between Miolee and a more caste-realist red homeland,) but if they really want to try...
Aven obviously isn’t an idiot, but there’s a reason that castes exist. Yellows can’t be grey, blues can’t be purples, reds can’t be blues, etc. When she fails it’s going to endanger the whole cleansing project.
Sorry I haven’t been around much. Quick catch-up post: 1. I’m getting engaged! It’s the guy with the nice doorknobs. 2. Red-cleaning discourse is not comfortable for me. In general, policies with results like “panoply of horror” should be reconsidered. 3. People on the internet who hate you are wrong. 4. Reds, be careful. Purples, be vigilant. Everyone else, be humble.
First off, no way this is real. I will genuinely bet you up to twenty ni this is overblown and the actual results are not socially significant.
Also, even if it were real, why would they stop being reds? Like, they’ve been getting credits based on their ability to earn money doing red jobs. The difference between reds and clean castes isn’t just pollution. Reds are good for red jobs in the same eay that greens are good for green jobs, etc.
Hilarious to watch Maniten politicians arguing about what to do with government positions for administration on reds. The ULP has switched between “abolish them” and “de-caste them” at least four times, and membets of their own faction keep forgetting which position they’re supposed to believe.
