Botch up - Chapter 12 (Oswald):
“Are you free?” at your inquisitive stare, he continues “The leaves are changing color. The park looks absolutely beautiful now.”
You never thought that he was the kind to want to stroll through a park “Sure. Let me grab my coat.”
Something in his eyes simply shines at your agreement almost like he is happy that you accepted this little thing for him. He helps you with your coat and only when you reach the street do you realize why he was so pleased that you agreed. He simply beams as he walks hand in hand with you and you understand that he is joyful that you don’t object to being seen with him, that you don’t shy away from him or try to hide your face.
The Mummy - Chapter 8 (Rothko):
His hand comes to stroke the tattoo on your back comfortingly as he stops his gentle invasion halfway. He waits for you to recover, whispering in your ear what a good girl you are...
Meet Miss Black (William Parrish):
“Where are you going, William?”
He stops his retreat “I, uh...”
“The great William Parrish at a loss for words? The man from whose lips fall rapture and passion and obsession? All those admonitions about being deliriously happy, that there is no sense in living your life without. All the sparks and energy you give off, the rosy advice you dispense in round, pear-shaped tones.”
A soft creak escapes the wooden floor as you come closer to the shelf, enough so your silhouette is somewhat discernable.
You take a deep breath, and the smell of old books tickles your nose “Just think of millenniums multiplied by eons... compounded by time without end. I've been around that long.” You remember a time when the planet was filled with luscious plants, with animals long extinct “But it's only recently that your affairs here have piqued my interest. Call it boredom.” You know that the word doesn’t apply but you don’t know how to voice the fascination you have with him now “The natural curiosity of me, the most lasting... and significant element in existence, has come to see you.”
