I hit enter and accidentally posted my answer (without actually having PUT an answer) to @avatoh‘s ask and then deleted it without thinking OTL
BUT I had copied the numbers you asked for from the 40 Questions — Meme for Fic Writers
1. Describe your comfort zone—a typical you-fic.
Hmm.. I suppose domestic fluff but with real emotions - little hesitations and uncertainties, characters helping each other through them (loving someone for who they are including mental/physical illness is a soft spot). HAPPY ENDINGS. ~romance~. positive-emotional sex scenes that convey some understanding/furthering of the relationship. (well that’s what I AIM for..)
7. Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
Oh god, do you know how MUCH I’ve written?? XD
uhh I actually have no idea but this was important to me because it was a moment I had finally figured out a character’s backstory, did a bit of research and stuff:
“And my Pop,” Albert had to put his other hand against his mouth to hide his smile at the choice of word and not ruin the moment. “He was a military man too y’know. I thought he’d be so ashamed. I thought I could fool him by being in college. But one day we were reading something Frank had sent and he looked at me. I knew he could see it. My shame. My guilt. But he said…” Harry closed his eyes, bringing a memory forth.
“‘Help is needed here at home too Harry. Crime doesn't stop when war breaks out. People still try to weasel opportunities when they think no one’s looking. The vulnerable get exploited. People are afraid and confused by this war and they could also do with some reassuring too. So no ones gonna come to my door and try to take my youngest away. You have a job to do here and if anyone comes knocking I’ll tell them as much.’”
Albert squeezed his hand and Harry looked at him. He was so open, there was a vulnerability in his eyes and a softness to his voice. Albert stroked his hand with his thumb.
“A man of sound judgement. What else did he say?” Albert encouraged.
“He said… ‘do you know Harry, how important it is for a mother to see a boy that could be her son around town? When he's gone to this forsaken place none of us can imagine? And she sees you here livin’ and breathin’ and it's not so difficult to imagine her boy is too. And that he's alright. That he'll come back soon.’”
“And that helped you didn’t it?”
“Well, I asked: ‘wouldn't they rather have their son here instead of me?’”
Albert sighed. Of course that was a very Harry thing to say.
“And what did he say to that?”
“That ‘everyone knows the world don't work like that. One life not tarnished is welcome news to all. Some of these boys want to go. And they've got to. But I can tell you for sure Harry, you don't need to learn none of the lessons war teaches. And you don't want to go, do you?’ I didn’t. I didn’t at all. I don’t want to kill anyone.”
“Of course you don’t,” Albert said softly.
“And he said: ‘'Then no one's gonna make you. You'll stay and you'll do your bit. When you finish your studies you’ll be here at the station with me.’” Harry sighed.
It’s perhaps not the best written thing but I was pretty pleased with Papa Truman’s dialogue and the sentiment.
23. If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?
probably French Food (no fancy wine) maybe not a complete rewrite but later in the series I was unhappy with how quickly they made this step in the relationship with not much hesitation. I’ve also have got much better at writing porn so I could do it more justice I think
27. How do you feel about collaborations?
I like collabs! A bit nerve racking at first to get into the right groove with the person and be confident to stick by my ideas and speak up when I don’t like something, but once I’m over that it’s good! ^^ I’ve collabed with @kami-ships-it a number of times (comic artist/writer collab and joint fic writing when I needed extra knowledge/ideas)
