IT WAS THIS MF'S BIRTHDAY ON SEPTEMBER 4TH (HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYY). I've been meaning to do a redraw of my tumblr banner for a while bc GODDDD it's old (It's from August 2019 apparently so five years old...) and this gave me an excuse to actually do that. I'm changing it after I post but I'll put the old banner under the cut for comparison if you're curious about it (I LOVE improving my skills over time I LOVE. IMPROVEMENT)

I still love my guy so much HFJKDSHL he means EVERYTHING Actually!! LORE DUMP RQ?? FOR THE HOMIES?? I got an inquiry in a tag about what exactly the REDA in REDAfterale stood for, and I'm not sure where to answer it so I guess I'll leave it under the cut too and hope the person sees it? Sorry to call attention to you in this way LOL

THE OLD. GAGS. GOD. WHO LET ME POST THIS. This wasn't even meant to be the banner, I just put it there while I was working on an actual banner that I just.... never finished??? I don't even remember actually but there was one that was definitely meant to exist ANYWAY LORE. To the question: yeah REDAftertale is the official title! It's a combination of the word REDACT and Aftertale, named that way after a gimmick that occurs through shenanigans this dumbass gets into. SUUUUPER tldr but it's basically an edit that occurs in the world during a reset, and the edit is relative to wherever this Geno is at the time. His DT is kinda at a similar level to the Frisk's DT in the timeline he ends up in, so when Frisk resets, his DT is kinda fighting for the control and it leads to Frisk.... not being able to reset EVERYTHING back to square one. And while its fighting, Geno's DT just straight up interferes with the world itself and causes wacky zany things to happen. So for example, a reset occurs while he's in Sans and Papyrus's house in this second timeline, and on the other side of it now there's a broom closet between the two rooms where there wasn't one before. Among other plot things!

Sorry, I found you by accident, but who is Blue Scarf? why does he look like Geno Sans from aftertale (and many other questions)

Hey no worries! You’re not wrong about him looking like Geno- Blue Scarf is actually a variant of Geno himself that I created wayyyy back in 2016 and have been continuously working on his story since! His AU’s name is REDAftertale, a combination of REDACT and Aftertale, and the AU’s been a bit of a passion project that’s taken over my life.

I do have a lot of development on it, I just haven’t really given much detail about it in public yet- I have a ref of Blue Scarf on this blog somewhere, and a ref of the Sans that’s one of his current brothers, but most of everything else I’ve kept to myself and my friend circle just bc,,, Idk how I wannna publish it HDKDJDK. Idk if I wanna do like a comic or a fic or what LOL

I actually nearly gave like a multi-paragraph story summary as I was writing this answer out bc I just love talking about him HDKDJD but I’ll try to make it a really concise elevator pitch sort of thing:

Basically, what if you took a Geno out of his save screen, and put him into a timeline where he could do something? What if he wasn’t confined to just watching from afar, and was actually able to influence how things went from within?

Granted, the timeline isn’t his own, and his own influence is honestly less… in his control than he would like. But what could he learn here? What could he take back?

Like I said I love talking about it so honestly if you’re willing to listen I could go over the whole ass thing FJDLDKDHK. OR if you wanna see it as a story I can see about making that happen 👀 it would just take time bc college,,,,

Thanks for answering, here’s a new question: can there be an error and a fatal error version of Blue Scarf

I don't see why not! Given the nature of multiverses there can be about any version of him you can think of! For those two particularly, I will say that that since the events that led up to him becoming Blue Scarf are different than what vanilla Geno does in the normal Aftertale story, the way he acts as those variants would be a lot different than how vanilla Error and Fatal end up acting!

So for example, I don't think an Error!Blue Scarf would be a world destroyer like regular Error, since the final thoughts before 'erroring out', so to speak, would be less him blaming others and more like, grieving what he's lost, I think? Because it took a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and probably luck to achieve what he has, and the family and life he has now is something he wouldn't trade for the world- the present is too important to him. So he'd probably,,, oh god actually I like this idea- I think his whole error schtick would end up being that, even though he has no idea why bc memory loss, he figures he will end up losing everything he gets regardless of how hard he tries, so he gets super jaded and chooses not to make connections? Which is SUPER messed up actually bc he's overly affectionate as Blue Scarf so the contrast to being disconnected goes HARD, I like this HAHDHJFDS

As for a Fatal version, I admit it's been a while since I've read his story and I'm not super familiar with how it goes anymore, so I would have to look back at it to give a better answer on how he would act in that situation. But I'd assume it's possible since he is technically still a Geno. The only thing I remember off the top of my head is that Fatal is trying to recreate a Papyrus? So Blue Scarf would probably do something similar- just with more than a Papyrus.

It’s about time I came out with this. I started working on this in November of last year after having a REALLY hard think, and I finally got the drive to finish it today. Mostly cuz I wanted to be ready for Artfight, but also this is long overdue as it is.

SO YEAH This is REDAftertale!Sans!  He typically goes by Sans but OOC I’ve been calling him Bermuda hdfshds. A hunk. A shawty, if you will. He’s the Sans in the timeline Blue Scarf resides in and is one of Blue Scarf’s older brothers.  He works on the surface as part of a special program meant to give humans greater access to magic. His Incantor status gives him the responsibility of teaching humans how to invoke their magic and helping them hone the abilities they’ve lost to time. Like a teacher and a drill sergeant at the same time fnjkdf. Otherwise he’s a funky dude. Chill and laid back, but also has a sarcastic undertone and an odd, controlled irritability. He doesn’t like attention or sympathy on himself but is more than happy to shower the ones he cares for in it. He does what he has the opportunity to and spends time with people as much as he can, for there is an innate fear that he will never have the chance again. You can imagine why. Also yeah his soul is like that thanks to human soul absorbing shenanigans

I definitely have way more thought out by now but that’s all stuff I’d have to spend a whole different post explaining so yeah not gonna do that here fyhdjkhKJLF but enjoy! HE’S A SHAWTY DUDE I MADE HIM A SHAWTY
