Cover art for Mad House #96 (Nov. 1974) by Gray Morrow. Mad House is one of the stranger titles in comics history; prior to issue 96 it was an Archie book called Mad House Glads. Then as part of Archie comics' foray into other genres it became Mad House, a fantasy/horror book, published under the Red Circle Comics imprint. It was edited by Gray Morrow and featured art by Morrow and other established artists like Vicente Alcazar, Doug Wildey, Frank Thorne, Sal Amendola and Al McWilliams. This radical revamp of Mad House lasted just three issues; Mad House #98 was titled Mad House Comics and was, once again, all about Archie and his zany gang. Red Circle never quite thrived, and is best known for its run at being a superhero imprint in 1983, with titles including The Fly, Black Hood, Lancelot Strong, Blue Ribbon, and The Comet. #graymorrow #redcircle #redcirclecomics #madhouse
