I was thinking it was Easter Sunday 10 years ago, but actually it was 11 years ago. I received a reply to an email I sent with about 50 questions — all most all of them were answered. And this is the fabric that made finding that designer possible. These scribbles include the designers who worked in Girls’ Soft Group (Plush). And it was that email reply that really gave me an understanding of the responsibilities of all the different Hasbro design groups and how they worked together to create something special like Jem. You’ll recognize the fabric from a few of the Matching Melody Fashion Assortments in the 1988 Pre-Toy Fair Catalog. It was later used for the 1988 Red Dress Pizzazz doll. Her designer is also named in this fabric, because she worked in Girls’ Soft Goods, but she moved into Girls’ Hard Group when Hasbro eliminated the Soft Group. Some of the highlights from that email was that Graphix’s accessory was a video distorter magic wand. I also found out that international fashions were canceled by the marketing department. I had learned about the international fashions nine years prior from Carleigh Hoff. I also found out from the email that American Beauty was created to introduce red into the line. I also learned there was a little black dress Jem doll designed, but marking killed that doll too. That email answered so many other questions about Jem, Maxie, Sindy and more. I always reminded of that email every Easter. #1988pretoyfair #carleighhoff #reddresspizzazz #littleblackdressjem #jem #jemandtheholograms #trulyoutrageous #showtimesynergy #totallyjem #riot4jem #matchingmedleys https://www.instagram.com/p/CcdiYEsJsC5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
