So, yes, this AU (I'll call it Respawn Error.)
Is technically a "What if..." what if King Candy were an existing NPC in the game, Vanellope's father, and Turbo took his place? What would happen after the reset? How would he feel knowing what happened? How being controlled for fifteen years affected him (Fanfic on the way, I promise) Or also how Vanellope and no other racer remembers him and obviously... What is his relationship with Turbo?
