Dear sweet pea and bumble bee: Education is high on our list of important things to advocate for! Today we had the chance to support our amazing teachers in the RedforEd protest! We support, live, value, and cherish learning...let’s pay our teachers and school staff a fair wage and provide proper educational needs to our children!! I’m proud that you two were exposed to this, it’s important! Madden referred to it as an “angry festival” later in the day, but as your mamma all I saw was 50,000 people side by side in support of education! It was beautiful!! Love you, Mamma

Seeing yesterday’s turnout for the #RedForEdAZ march was..incredible. I’ve been fortunate enough to get more involved in protests/rallies over the last year or so (can you guess why?), and the energy coursing through our society right now is empowering. . My mother was a public school teacher for over 20 years—kindergarten and 2nd grade. I saw firsthand the difficulties and obstacles teachers have to endure simply to provide our students with a proper education. Teachers are criminally underpaid, but their biggest concern? The students. Schools are underfunded, understaffed, under-resourced, and a thousand other “unders.” The brunt of these issues affect students, and thus the future of our society. Plain and simple. . Education is a right. The system must change. (at Arizona State Capitol)
