This had been a mistake. Netzach wasn’t too sure what had overtaken them, hearing of wolves and going off into Blackgrove to get a look at them. It wasn’t something they were keen on ever doing, given their experiences with the canine abnormalities of the facility. Wolves were the all-consumer, a gluttonous dark heart in a permanent hunting cycle. Netzach did not like the wolf they knew, and what that wolf became when free of its fetters. 

Upon actually seeing it, they had frozen, all wide green eyes and trembling hands. Their limbs did not fail them, but when the creature had spotted them, Netzach had felt something terrible wash over them. It had only grown worse when the wolf came closer, and Netzach had turned heel and ran when the thing had growled and snapped at them.

Screw that. Screw this. 

At this point, they’re up a tree, limbs tangled in the main branch of a rather tall tree. Given the smooth first ten feet of trunk, it’s a wonder how they managed to climb up there. Nevertheless, someone is coming back, and Netzach takes the opportunity to call out.

“Hey! Hey- you there.”

“I don’t know if its left, but a wolf chased me up this tree. So uh, you might want to watch your back.”

||  █ ▌— while much of this city is utterly unfamiliar, jakurai is growing--used to it. that’s not the most comfortable position to be in, merely used to something, but he’s tense without his microphone. 

when did he start to rely on it so heavily? he isn’t sure. he still knows a dozen ways to kill a man with a pair of surgical scissors, he’s far from defenseless, but this place is... odd and that has him curiously off-balance. still, what better way to grow more accustomed to a place than to try and find his way around. he thought he saw a charming cafe on his last walk, but now that he’s trying to retrace his steps, he can’t seem to find it.

well. seems there’s nothing for it. he approaches a man who seems friendly enough and offers a polite smile, though his eyes still seem... tired. he can’t shake it, try as he might. ❝ excuse me, i don’t mean to trouble you but would you happen to be familiar with this area at all? ❞

“So... Feathers. They’re pretty cool.”  Miriam’s hands are planted on her hips, chin tilted up and gaze locked into the forest. This unnatural darkness, combined with her inability to do anything other than feel and lose her mind, is making her more stressed than she’d prefer to be. “I’ll be honest, my hope is that we can just find them. I don’t think feathers just like, come out as readily as hair does, so if they’re not on the ground. Eugh.”

She pulls a face, freckled nose wrinkled up and foot tapping incessantly. “Do you have any ideas? I’m kind of out of my usual schemes.” She’s extending her feelers out, trying to see how the other is feeling. Maybe she can just leech off of that and feel a little better. 

“I’m sorry,” she finally manages to move, rolling up onto the balls of her feet and taking a deep breath. “I haven’t had to like, do anything dangerous without my usual setup. I’m a little anxious.”

because you don’t have any abilities (poor unfortunate soul!), cloud as the sage of wind has decided to take pity on you! they grant you windstepping.
