For a moment a look of surprise colored her features before she expertly smoothed them away. She leaned over, plucking the yellowing photograph from his fingers and looked it over. Three girls, young -- a brunette, red head, and blonde, laughing together at some private joke. Their smiles wide and carefree, not telling of the hell they lived every single day. Her fingers passed over the battered face of it, lingering on the blonde girl standing next to her vivid swath of red.
"Mmm... no." She said finally, the lie coming out just as smooth -- if not smoother -- than the truth. She returned it to him, bored and disinterested. "Not all red heads are me, vorobyshek. It is not such an uncommon shade."
