New Comic Day| Stamber
Two months ago Stephen was laying on the floor of his apartment clinging to life. IT was somewhere he never wanted to be again. Hell, he would be here today if it wasn’t for Amber. She saved him. Literally and metaphorically as well. She was the person who helped him realize he truly needed help. That and the fact that he was throwing up from his stomach being pumped. He never wanted to be in that position again. He never wanted to scare or hurt Amber like he did that night again. He also never wanted to leave his child until his time was truly up. He was given a second chance in this world, and he planned on living it to the fullest.
There had been a lot of stuff he missed while in rehab. He missed his cousin moving to town. He missed everything his best friend was going through, and he missed a shit ton of visits with Mavi, but he needed to go. He had to get clean to be the person they all knew and loved once more. The one thing that killed him besides missing Mavi was the fact Amber was suffering. He wasn’t there to help her like she was for him. That part hurt him deeply.
As he drove down the streets in his old Mustang that Amber helped him pick out, he began to sing softly along to some Mariana’s Trench. It was kind of uplifting to be having a normal day out with his best friend again. He had missed a total of twelve new comic book days. Yep, that’s right. Twelve. Eight for the two months in rehab, and four for his days of hiding out, but that was all going to end today! He needed his comic book fix. He needed to know what was going on in the latest Black Canary and Batgirl issues! He was worried something major may have happened to the two characters he loved the most.
Stephen turned down Amber’s road ,and he felt himself getting giddy! It was exciting to have a best friend date again. As he pulled up in her driveway, he turned the music up a bit. He came to an abrupt stop and began yelling out the lyrics. “TESTING, TESTING, IM JUST SUGGESTING!” He yelled those lyrics out and laid on the horn! “KYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYLE!
