It’s been quiet since they’d been escorted out of the base. Neither of them have said a thing even since reboarding Red and taking off to make their way back to the castle. It’s understandable -- of course it’s understandable, they’d just had new broken to them and little time to process it, and it’s... pretty world-shaking news.
From his position behind Keith’s seat, Shiro casts a glance down at him in hope to get some read on how he’s feeling about the situation. About learning he’s part Galra. That can’t be easy to digest. Hell, Shiro himself is having a hard time grasping it, that his little brother has the blood of their enemies running though him. --But how he feels about it isn’t important. Besides, it’s not like it actually changes anything about who Keith is.
Keith, however, might think differently. Admittedly, Shiro’s a bit worried about him. The silence he’s taken to isn’t helping that concern any, either.
“Keith,” he says, finally breaking the quiet in the air, gaze still solidly on the Red Paladin as opposed to the windows in front of them. There’s a pause, and Shiro takes a moment to sort out the best way to order his questions, and the best way to word them.
“...Are you okay?”
Alright, it’s hardly anything groundbreaking, but it’s the first thing he needs to know. He’s sure Keith’s expecting it, has maybe even been counting down to the question, but that makes it no less important. He just... needs to make sure that Keith hasn’t taken to the whole thing badly, that he’s not too shaken.
