"La Rivolta" - RedSka
Year: 2012
Country: 🇮🇹 (Italy)
Genre: Ska Punk
There are albums that you don't listen to: you experience them like a march. "La Rivolta" is one of those. A blast of Italian ska-punk where every drum beat sounds like a barricade, every trumpet line like a slogan, and every verse like a wall painted with red spray paint. RedSka maintains its mix of street punk, reggae, and rocksteady, but does so with a political clarity that disarms any lukewarmness. "Rivolta" means revolt, and the title doesn't lie: the album is an open call against fascism, racism, precariousness, and apathy. What this album seeks to do is remind us that dancing can also be militant and that singing collectively is still a political act.
