send me ‘AU!’ and i will ramble about an AU i want to use more, develop and have thread in, or one i just don’t get to enthuse about enough on my blog.
SO WE GONNA TALK ABOUT MY SUBNAUTICA AU WITH @yugidonthitmemutou BECAUSE HOLY SHIT I LOVE THIS FUCKING AU!
So the basic premise of the AU is that Yugi is the sole survivor of the Aurora crash and is trying to get back home to his boyfriend Seto ( @sethokai ). When he’s going to be picked up by Sunbeam he arrives at the island early and finds the remains of the purple key and is able to fabricate a new one.
Meanwhile, inside the QEP, Yusaku, who is a lone Precursor who was thought to be dead. (This was based on a Data Download that talks about a young Precursor contracting the Kharaa virus and being quarantined on 4546B.) He ends up running into Yugi, where they both bluff each other into thinking the other has a weapon. Yusaku explains about the QEP and takes Yugi to the console to deactivate it and Yugi finds out he’s infected and that now there’s no way to save the Sunbeam.
After watching the Sunbeam be destroyed Yugi nearly gives up hope but decides to take Yusaku’s offer to help get the cure for the Kharaa and get them both off the planet. It turns into a lot of misadventures and near death scares like Yugi passing out from sheer exhaustion or Yusaku (whose body is mostly cybernetic) gets shut down temporarily by the EMP of a Crab Squid. Yugi also yelling at a Leviathan to “fuck off” and Yusaku has no idea what that means or when Yusaku shields Yugi from a Warper.
During the last few hundred years, Yusaku has been in contact with the Sea Emperor Leviathan and wants to help her and her young but can’t due to limited access to any sort of fabricator or tools. Now that Yugi has come along he can now help her out and he in turn helps Yugi to survive.
Prior to being left on 4546B, Yusaku had a mate who helped him get his new body but had to leave him behind when all the other Precursors left the planet. It turns out that the Precursors had visited Earth once before so Yusaku’s mate decides to return to Earth, adopts the name Ryoken ( @revolverkun ), and is currently friends with the Kaiba brothers.
