"Then it's you, then it's me in love"
Never before have I felt so moved by a piece of music. I'll never forget the time my older brother talked to me about listening to house. He told me he loves the way it uplifts your soul, like all music should be.
That really hit home with me. Like in the song Cotton Crush by Kevin Devine, we're sifting the static for a simpler sound. Some people may say "oh this music is for gay people" or "sounds like your shopping at Gap".
No matter how you take it, House is forever a glimpse into the beauty of the human design. It encapsulates the nature and essence of life. This sounds magical and all, but if you think of anything fundamental, it is this genre of EDM. You can have all the different rhythm patterns, bass modulation, and techno synths, but you cant get anywhere without the basis of it all.
I don't really know how else to explain it all completely, but this post just pales in comparison to how I feel.
This is the reason why I love Kaskade for his musical ability and his embodiment of the entire dance music scene. he was able to grow himself on his own music and his alone. He never strayed away from the music he loved to make. He stayed true to himself and what he felt was right. He didnt jump on the dubstep train or the trap storm. But yet, he stepped up to become the figurehead of all things beautiful within the EDM culture.
It all started with his track, "It's You, It's Me"
The concept was simple, the composition maybe even simpler. But the message and the emotion portrayed through the song is stronger than most songs produced today. How can that be? I only really delved deep into listening to it this year, but I heard it several times through my journey through dance music. His move to do his Redux Tour really blew me away. How can you seriously dwell on this song, in a revolutionary spin on a show, and i dont know... I have so much respect for this guy as a person and as a role model. If only I can be as genuine as Kaskade in his career.
So this is my THANK YOU to Kaskade and his years of music as a producer, DJ, pioneer, and a mogul of happiness to listeners everywhere. You were the first artist I ever hears when it came to modern house. I grew up listening to my father playing Club Hitz and Hits of XTC records in club atmospheres, but my first encounter with house music again was when I heard "4AM (Adam K and Soha Mix) and "I Remember" with Deadmau5. I even watched the video promo for Your Own Clothing and I was inspired to hold my own dance events. My first ever event I threw was all inspired by you and your movement.
For me, it was all about the music and the experience and emotions it invokes into others. Kaskade has been the driving force between my own connection between music and people that listen. I may not be as big as Kaskade, or even popular enough to hold up my own weight in the DJ world, but I know where I've been and where I come from. For that, I couldnt be more grateful.
It's You,It's Me, and Kaskade...
Kaskade’s LIVE set from his last stop in San Diego for his It’s You It’s Me Redux Tour. Ryan starts off his set with ‘It’s You It’s Me,´the track that placed him where he is at today in the dance music scene. This track is a calm and beautiful start to his set. Kaskade is by far the only Dj/Producer that knows how to combine vocals with his Deep House and Tech beat, most importantly complimenting the vocals and beat with each other. His music lets us leave the world behind and bring us into his world of ecstasy.
Unfortunately I was not able to attend to his shows but you can catch his set LIVE that he posted for us on Soundcloud. Great music to start off your day
