Sorry I’m late for the post of yesterday !
I wanted to share with you Damiano Von Erckert, because I like his universe. Reelluv was the first one I’ve listened from him, and frankly, I didn’t like it at the first listening. I was more curious, because I thought that the sounds are not matching together. The vocal sample is quite repetitive and sometimes is kind of off. But something was teasing me with it.
I’ve listened to it two times, then three times, and in the end, I can just admire the craft from this guy. If listened carefully, we can hear so many influences that are dancing together. It’s like he took it as a challenge. We have a very dark vocal sample with that dissonant piano that is always accompanying it, mixed with some world rythms, and a bass line that is kind of normal. From times to times you will hear some funky samples that are randomly incorporated (the one at 0′50, or near the end). So, yeah, well done, well done.
All Good is like the title says, the beginning makes me thing of Daft Punk, I don’t really know which song but i’m pretty sure there is one beginning in the same way. The whole track is rising and rising and is reaching some good vibes places.
No Good Times is quite antinomic and heavily funky. Since the beginning, you have that supercharged beat, along with an over excited voice sample, after that, it’s like the track is telling to dance until the end of the night, under some tropico sun. I’ll take that invation today and move my ass like I was in Copacabana. Thank you Damiano !
(tha last one for the road : Untitled Emotion. The title was so weird I couldn’t help myself but to click on it, it is slowly evolving in weird places, it begins really dark, and then it is lightening up little by little)
