Some texture exploration to help me choose between different pieces and ideas.
These are all on the back side of some reelskin, which is kinda harder to use but still nicer than the cheap stuff, gotta get my money's worth anyway.
The orb staff I'm kinda struggling to love in this style and it feels a little limited in what else I can do with it, plus the orb is difficult, this definitely didn't work.
Absolutely love the shading on the moth wing. My plan is to try different styles on each wing before doing those on a whole design.
Orb lady I am saving/developing for later, someone on tiktok asked me to explain techniques and while I'm not an expert on tattooing by any means I am trying a lot of stuff out, so she's a chance to show more textures (and practice fur)
Fake skin practice! First time using reelskin for very long and I was mighty pleased.
My faves are the swords, you'll be seeing more on that train of thought. Not as keen on the colour versions but hey they were experiments.
Top right is heavily inspired by an artist I know (toadwitchh on insta) so I hand-poked the shading on that one. Deffo gonna do more of that.
I will be trying the orb lady a bit larger scale, but focusing on large scale designs for this month so gonna be drawing on some bodies to develop those ideas.
More fake skin practice and holy shit huge difference between tattooing Amazon off brand skin and reelskin. So it’s being banished to lines and circles training only
