Ok I’m super curious because I’m wondering/starting to think people have different definitions of what “using a reference” means when it comes to having a drawing reference, so poll time!

What do you mean by “using a reference image”?

Having a ref image that I then trace (pose, background, clothes, etc.)

Having a ref image that I look at while drawing, but don’t trace

I drew some heckin REFS for the esp dib au! I mean these are mostly for me so I can keep things consistent in my art/comics/ficlets of this au but I figured I might as well post it here too!

Also my friend Wuzzles pointed out that Dib looks hella tall here but he’s actually short for his age at a measly 5′2″ while Zim is just barely scraping 4 feet.

Gaz is 5′5″ and doesn’t let her two dumbass brothers forget it.

Ref is done! To add some description, Matilda here is just your average big gorl who loves her weights and home gym. She’s a bit shy, tho.

HALF-LIFE SFM TURNAROUNDS

Here we go! I’ve put together a couple of folders of turnarounds and headshots of each major character in Half-Life 2, as well as a couple minor characters and a lil’ meme boy.

There are headshots for all the characters and a ‘lineup’ image for each, which shows them in their idle poses. Only the more complex looking characters (like Alyx, Barney, Eli, etc.) have full body turnarounds. I might update this in the future to add the others’ as well, but seeing as this took me over 8 hours to make I doubt that will happen for at least a little while.

PLEASE READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING:

I’d highly recommend not downloading the whole folder. It’s split into 2 sections: high-res and low-res.

The “HL_Turnaround_1.0_high_res.zip” file has every character and every turnaround in its original size, while “HL_Turnaround_1.0_low_res.zip” has those same files in half the resolution to save on file space.

The two regular folders labelled as just “high-res” and “low-res” are there so you can go in to pick and choose which character folder you want, instead of downloading the entire thing.
