Empathy in Design
During my design brief, I used empathy in many ways. Since my problem was aimed to help people more than the market, it must be pretty empathetic. By changing wrappers of food, people will be able to not be distracting and loud in all situations when opening snacks. I believe this isn't market driven because making, say, cloth wrappers to fix the problem would increase the price of said snacks causing the market for them to initially decrease because they would be a lot more expensive. By changing snack wrappers, every person could feel confident in bringing snacks to lectures and meetings because they will no longer be distracting to everyone around them. It would improve the lives of the people using the design and not the lives of the company behind it.
