I am very happy, lucky and proud to be a guest on the BBC programme Focus Beats again. I'm particularly pleased that it's a song like "Birds in stormy winter", which is certainly not often heard in today's AI and bot-customised format landscape. However, it's wonderful that the BBC can afford and support creative arts and culture formats like Focus Beats which is produced by @livswift1 for the @bbc6music and @reformradio.

Focus Beats - Sampa the great presents her favourite instrumentals to help you concentrate

The Zambian artist joins from Lusaka to select an upbeat first hour of the mix. Including #afrobeat, #soul and #jazz instrumentals from Chef 187, Pharrell, Mwanje and more.

Zambian-born and Botswana-raised, Sampa The Great infuses an incredible range of genres into her music. With a truly unique sound, her 2022 album ‘As Above, So Below’, features collaborations with Kojey Radical, Denzel Curry and many more.

Whilst spending some time back in Zambia, Sampa selected the first hour of this focus mix, featuring instrumentals that clearly inspire her own music.

This selection will keep you interested, yet help you maintain your focus.
