Regina/Charming AU: True Love's Kiss doesn't work on Snow when she falls under a Sleeping Curse, so Charming makes a demon deal.
Very much inspired by Supernatural.
(Despite how much I like the idea of these two together it was surprisingly hard to come up with something. Hopefully next time will be better.)
“You called?”
He feels a chill run up his spine and spread through his veins. Her voice is like ice, sharp and cold and completely indifferent. His heart hammering in his chest reminds him of why he is here, and he turns to face her.
She is beautiful—dark hair, red lips, eyes that assess through boredom. Her fingers are tapping against her hip, the only movement she is making, and he suddenly has the terrifying thought that if he doesn’t hold her interest, she may leave without a word.
He has to clear his throat twice before the words will come out. “I did.”
He shouldn’t have called her—he had heard the tales as a child, the ones where desperate people made desperate pleas and called on the most forbidden of magic for help. Someone would appear to them, give them what they desired, and collect the heavy price in return.
“Well?” Her voice has a snap to it now, and her eyebrows draw down in annoyance. “Get on with it. I haven’t got all day.”
He feels, incredibly, anger rise in him at that. “You have to hear me out, I’m the one who asked you here.”
Her expression goes dark, grin twisted, and she says, “Do you think you’re the only one out there making black magic deals?"
David’s stomach swoops, and he has to take steadying breaths so his vision will stop swimming. “I need you to wake someone up from a Sleeping Curse.”
She moves then, circling him like a lioness would prey, eyes burning lines of fire up and down his body. When her voice sounds again, it is right next to her ear and David jumps. “And who would you like me to wake from this Sleeping Curse? A lover, no doubt.”
“She’s not just a lover, she’s—“ he falters when her nails scrape along the exposed skin of his neck, right over his jugular. “She’s my True Love.”
“And you haven’t woken her with True Love’s Kiss?”
He flushes, gritting his teeth and steadfastly telling himself that he will stand his ground. “It didn’t work. There is something different about this curse.”
“Ah,” her breath whispers over him like silk. “Well, that is quite the favor. What would you be giving me in return, young prince?” Her nails trace across the back of his neck and up the other side.
“Anything,” David answers immediately, turning sharply so that he can look right at her. She seems momentarily impressed before she schools the emotion and smirks at him.
“'Anything' is a large price to pay.”
“I’m willing."
She smiles then, and he doesn’t know if he has ever felt such acute terror, not even when he first saw Snow lying in her wooden coffin, still and pale as death.
“I accept.”
She yanks him to her, fusing her mouth to his and David kisses her back hungrily, tasting life and freedom for Snow on her tongue. She grips his hair tightly and shifts his head back and forth as she sees fit, biting his lip hard enough that he tastes copper in his mouth.
When she pulls back her tongue flicks out to sweep his blood from her lips and her eyes are a deep purple.
“It is done.”
;;
She doesn’t go back on her word—Snow wakes up, gasping and hauls David down into a kiss that steals his breath. There are tears in her eyes when she finally lets him pull back enough to see her face.
“You found me.”
“I always will.”
Her laughter, and then scream, are the last things that he registers before it feels like his entire body is being ripped apart at the seams.
;;
“We had a deal!”
The woman cocks her head at him. “I fulfilled my part. She is awake. And now you must fulfill yours—you are mine. Forever. Your darling princess can live the rest of her days without her True Love at her side.”
David crumbles to the ground. “You gave us no time together before you took me. None.”
“It was pleasant to watch her hope be torn away from her the instant it was returned.” A chuckle is in her voice, and she crouches down next to him, lifting his chin with a dainty finger.
“You… you planned this?”
She smiles. “My dear. Who do you think sent the Sleeping Curse in the first place?”
