arms  cross  tightly  across  his  chest      head  bent  downwards    as  he  walks  through  the  hall  ,     hardly  a  pause  given  to  acknowledge  gansey’s  words .    but  he  does  hear  them  ,      and  he  feels  them.   the  deep  itching  annoyance  that  was  so  familiar  ,     -   could  gansey  not  trust  him  to  manage  on  his  own  .    it  was  an   instinctual  reaction  to  an  offer  for  help   he  was  not  quite  sure  he  would  ever  be  able  to  throw  ,   as  much  as  he  might  have  sometimes  ,  desperately  ,  wanted  to.  

        ❛    look   -       ❜     finally  he  stops  ,   turns  toward  his  friend.     ❛     i  don’t  know  if  you  can     ❜    there  was  almost  a  savage  pleasure  in  that  ,  to  finally  have  a  problem  that  gansey  could  not  wave  away  with  his  money  and  his  connections.   something  of  his  own ,  even  as  adam  knew  it  was  not  so  normal  to  revel  in  having  an  unsolvable  problem.   but  cabeswater  ,  it’s  need  for  him  -  was  unique  and  wholly  his  own.                 ❛   it’s  just  cabeswater   -    it’s  loud,  today   .   but  I  don’t  know  what’s  WRONG.    I’m  going   after  school    ❜
